For this thread to be complete I think someone needs to compile a list of rugby unions/clubs struggling to pay off stadium debt.
To quote Nigel, this is rugby not soccer.

Re: Last DVD Brought Out About Leinster
Probably the treble season DVD from 2013? As to why there isn’t more, I’d imagine there just isn’t the demand for it, combined with everything being cheaper to publish on YouTube and other social channels. Honestly i think they are missing a massive income stream. Demand globally is there. But hey ...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb
That game against Chile has 50k views now on YouTube, there's clearly an audience there. How many of the 50k viewed it live? How many viewed the whole match? How many just skipped along to the next score? The ultimate question is how many of that 50k would pay to watch it. I might have a look, but ...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Am I right in thinking that Ireland can’t play test matches outside the Aviva? IIRC it was part of the naming rights deal with Aviva In 2012 we played Fiji in Thomond. This was one of the 3 autumn internationals, it wasn't an additional match for an emerging selection. But because it wasnt in the a...

And what about Crowley - is it CROWley (as in holy) or CrOUley (as on owly) Surely it's owly because it's spelled owley? Would crouley not rhyme with cruelly? I think the only reasonable thing to do here is we all need to start calling the black birds crows (as in cows) Sent from my SM-A528B using ...

This is nothing more than CVC influence on prospective merchandising rights for each of 6 Nations. Two stripes equals two sets of replica gear for the kids / grandkids. Premiership did exactly this 8 years ago. Only stipulation is you can't change primary jersey colour without 3 months notice. I un...

For anyone looking to make a proper Holiday out of the trip to Bilbao. https://youtu.be/uup1wmtKFUs?si=zfOGdqllCg2D8xgO 31 hours by Ferry - 2 nights at sea so sleep makes up a lot of time - to Santander and 90 minutes by public transport to Bilbao. Speaking of Rome, for the last final in Bilbao, I ...

Have been in Stadio Flaminio. Super venue. I think its being redeveloped. there's talk of doing so for the 2032 Euros in Italy - but nothing has happened so far as far as I know As far as I know, Stadio Flaminio is basically dilapidated. Michael Cheika. No way, sure ROG has been suspended about 6 times since he took charge of La Rochelle in July 2021 for total of about 21 weeks. Pffft, Cheika can get more than that for 1 suspension - ROG is such a goody-two-shoes Cheika's 6 months ban was suspended right? And he was able to keep hi...

Re: RDS redevelopment
The north and south stand were removable in the same way as today and the roof over them stayed in place as it was cantilevered from the 2 stands to the sides. I don't know if the equestrian rules don't allow for horses to run under a roof at either end, maybe the shadow would put them off or somet...

The Romans anchored their roof to a permanent structure that goes a hundred of feet into the ground and weighs 230,000 tons. The colosseum isn't just sitting on the ground at one end of the Forum! The blocks on the lower section weigh between 50 and 70 tons apiece The roof in PUC is anchored into t...

Re: RDS redevelopment
Okay so long question short ......... Say 3 or 4 years down the line, when the development is complete, and God Willing we have a 40k+ potential crowd match on out hands (like the upcoming last 16 game V Leicester), will the money we would make from hosting our own corporate in the all new RDS make...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Reading all the posts above, some good points are being made, even on each side of opposing viewpoints. The problem in Ireland is that we have only 4 pro teams, and all our national squad players are chosen from those teams. There's been a big increase in media coverage of rugby over the last 10-20...

It’s a real bugbear of mine - but why do people feel the need to constantly praise Hollie Davidson? I get it’s a novelty to have a female referee, but people seem to go out of their way to constantly point out how great they think she is - when she is at best a mediocre ref right now who is inexper...
