Re: Leinster Props going into 2014 and beyond

McKeever isn't bothered with rugby. I don't think it helps that he always gets injured.

I'm surprised Jake Cawley is out of rugby. Injured? I always thought he had the work ethic to get to the top if nothing else.

Re: Active Sportswear gone from Donnybrook & RDS?

I've been getting my kit from Active since I was a kid. Whilst he has been there a lot less since the Leinster store opened the owner has always been a gent who threw in free gum shields and the likes when you bought new boots or whatever. Active is a pretty small store but very good in Blackrock an...

Re: Schools Rugby 2013

Lots of mistakes in both games but two great Senior Cup ties so far. I think Rock will run away with it versus Kilkenny though. I've a bad feeling the Cup is going to Rock again. :(

Re: Michael Cheika Speaks!

Bear in mind that Alan Jones is a cretin of the highest order. He is Australia's answer to Rush Limbaugh and shock jock radio. He recently said the Australian PM's father had died of shame because of her "lying". :?

It's a shame to have Jones associated with rugby.

Re: Michael Noone

Had a cracking season for Blackrock in 2010/11 I think. Very, Very big unit. Quick acceleration from standing and sustained pace over 60/70 metres. Strong ball carrier and tackler. I dunno if he has enough to break through at Leceister but he will go alright for you in the A league and a years trai...

Felix Jones and Alan Lewis the ref I think went to Saint Andrews.

Monkstown are diabolical this year, 3 of the backs are Leinster players but the pack are meant to be atrocious.

Newbridge taking on CBC tonight at Donnybrook in the League final. Both undefeated this year.

Re: Schools Rugby 2009-10 - SCT

I don't know how much of the above is true or not (and people connected with Michaels seem to be making an amount of noise about it), but I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of the Michaels players getting up from the first ruck and doing a Nick Kennedy! St Michaels operate under the Holy Gho...

Re: Castleknock College R.I.P.

The seniors in particular have been appaling. 3 years ago when this crop were JCT they could compete with any other team and beat most. Were certainly not 40 points behind anyone. Coach Andy Kenny arrived from Belvo 2 years ago. He seems have made things go backwards. Watching them on Setanta - the...

Re: Castleknock College R.I.P.

Marys is a tiny school yet has reached numerous semis and two finals winning one this decade. The excuse 'we don't have the depth' is horseshit if you want to be considered a top tier contender, even a best of the second tier teams. 3 finals - 2002, 2003 and 2008. Given the numbers it a fine achiev...

Re: Castleknock College R.I.P.

Along with Newbridge they remain the best of the second tier teams, they always have a relatively decent, well organised team with some very talented players but they just don't have the strenght and depth to really challenge for a cup. There's no shame in that though as there are only 7 schools (a...

Re: Castleknock College R.I.P.

They have reached one semi of the cup this decade. CBC, KCK, Gerrads, Roscrea and Newbridge have reached a semi (2 in some cases) this decade. Their last SCT final was 1976! How they continue in the 7 automatic places baffles me to be honest. I know that Newbridge moved to the league because they fe...

They have also been in more finals than anyone else in the last 20 years(I think) so I don't think you can say they are 'developing' into a reputable school. getting to finals and losing is about as good as not getting past the 1st round which i doubt clongowes will do this year. I just cant see th...

Re: Schools Rugby 2009-10 - SCT

The St. Gerard's v Kilkenny College semi-final has been rescheduled for next Wednesday in Carlow. The Carlow pitch was unplayable since before last Saturday's postponed AIL Division 3 game. I heard that Mary's gave Kilkenny a game on Wednesday and beat them 14-10. So on the basis of the two team's ...
