Re: Connacht v Leinster March 2016

Really looking forward to this chaps. I haven't been to an away Leinster game in years and never even been to galway. It's the ground far from the square? Any rugby pubs that will host us for a few beers before hand? Yeah O'Connells do a decent range of Craft beers on tap too and a huge selection o...

Re: The Ireland Depth Project. Pt 1 Front Row

Dave again you are showing your great ignorance when it comes to rugby. munster were at no stage comprehensively disassembled in the scrum, as you have put it. It is also worth pointing out that bar caughlan, that was a pack made up of squad players, against a pretty strong connacht pack. you can j...

Re: Kearney: Love/Hate

For the record (again), I think Kearney is very good at a lot of aspects. There are few people on the planet better at fielding balls. I'm happy to concede that there are games where we would have won with him on the pitch. But there are also games we lost directly because he can't tackle or positi...

Re: Sabre-rattling from Premiership Rugby again ...

I think now is the time to focus on what we can control. So the choices are 1. Play the Pro-12 – outcome, player drain, declining revenues. 2. Take one of the 6 places offered – Mick Dawson thinks that’s worth talking about 3. Create Celtic league franchises in England, France, Rome…….and what abou...

You'll destroy us Rugby in Ireland has survived a war of independence, a civil war, two world wars, the emergency, the ban and the troubles all of which directly affected the game one way or another - this won't destroy us. But who will we play? Scotland have confirmed they would be in massive trou...

Connacht sign Jake Heenan, the captain of the NZ U20s last summer and a 20 year old openside. anyone any clue if Maoiri NZ's designated 2nd side last year when Heenan played as if they were then he's a project player? The only NZ teams to disqualify you from playing for another country..... AB's Ju...

Re: 3 provinces see Pro12 attendance increases-Munster in de

The sad thing is the capital city can only muster a few hundred additional fans relative to the large town that is Limerick. The focus of this thread should be why Leinster aren't packing the RDS to the rafters. Probably because the RDS is only a patch job of a facility for Leinster, three temporar...

Re: Thank you Isa

Fantastic player, utmost respect for the standards he set and maintained throughout his stay in Ireland. In the discussion regarding his departure on the Connacht forum I refer to him as Leinster's John Langford, which I believe to be fully appropriate. He set the benchmark for future NIQ's pulling ...

Re: Connacht sign Craig Clarke

Absolutely great signing, and a superb replacement for Mike McCarthy. He's a serious player and an excellent leader, and in most other countries would be a test player. Interested to know what the story is with Aaron Conneely – he made 12 starts for the Irish U20s and played in four U20 tournaments...

Re: Connacht sign Craig Clarke

Great piece of business by Sears and the IRFU. So Connacht get Craig Clarke and Munster get Tom Hayes. The IRFU are clealy trying to level up the standards of the provinces, in order to make all of them feeders for the national team. A related goal is to not have any of the provinces challenging fo...
