Re: Leinster v Montpellier

Not getting 4th try cost us home semi. Oh, come on! That's a real glass half-empty view. Some things are best ignored. On that point, if we had got the 4th try, both ourselves and Munster had ended up on 25 points. Who would have got first seeding for the quarters? We would have, based on more trie...

Re: Injuries

That's a little odd, replacing a second row with a back row, although I suppose D Ryan offer options in both. He's there to hold tackle bags. He wasn't even in the original Wolfhound panel so there's no way he's leapfrogged the likes of Tuohy etc into the senior squad. Seems to me that Kidney knew ...

Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??

Can't see a QF in Dublin on Good Friday unless they change the licensing laws, IMO unlikely they would grant a dispensation to Dublin like they did for Limerick. Big difference granting a dispensation to a city the size of Dublin compared to Limerick! Embra on the Friday night. Saracens at 3pm on S...

Let's start the PR campaign for Matfield here and now!

What's Brad Thorn up to these days?

I wonder if Matfield could be tempted out of retirement for four months.

Re: Now that the HC is over (for the moment)..

I'd be happy enough with that squad.
Earls was good on Saturday but I still doubt his ability at 13.
Might be Bowe at 13 and Earls on the wing.
Bowe was tried at 13 in the get-together in Carton House.

Re: Leinster v Montpellier

Leo did some great work during the game dismantling the opposition's rolling mauls. There were a number of times where he seemed to glide through the maul and eventually got his hands on the ball carrier and dragged him to the ground.
Quite an impressive skill!

Re: What do you want/expect from the 6N?

Anyone else see the comment in the Sunday Times yesterday regarding the training camp in Carton House in December? One player was noted as saying that they felt they had more clarity and insight into attacking formations and plans in those two days than in the last couple of years. What a ringing en...

Woohoo!
Is it not the 5th of June?

It is but nobody in our ROI office want that specific day off so they're giving us March 16th off instead.

Just as a quick FYI to the person who plays the music whenever there is a score in the RDS, if you ever play "Chase The Sun" again after there is a score, I will hunt you down and kill you dead.
It's a rugby match, not the f%~king darts.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Today's IT "Kidney is of a mind to give the vast bulk of that side a shot at some sort of redemption" em wasn;t that a stock phrase regarding EOS in the 2007 RWC and subsequent 6N...... very disheartning stuff. Thornley is so far up Kidney's hole, it's ridiculous. He was quick to blast O'...

At least the fixture list isn't as hectic during the 6N and other teams will be suffering from international call-ups.
Hopefully we'll see him back for the q/f or the Munster game the week before.

Re: Luke Fitzgerald out for the season?

The 6N would have a greater priority than the tour to NZ so, if this is indeed true, they would be more likely to let him miss the summer tour which is, to all intents and purposes, meaningless. (Yes yes I know a win over the All Blacks would be a huge thing but success in the 6N is the priority for...
