Re: Leinster v Ospreys Saturday 19th Feb at 5pm

Thought Baird put in a solid shift without the highlight reels, all good development. At the match, I assumed he was the one who made the first break down the line in the early minutes.
But that was the younger Moloney? He got around the pitch and got at least one turnover, looks promising.

Re: Leinster v Ospreys Saturday 19th Feb at 5pm

Held up in goal is a goal line drop out now We saw a grounding though, they just couldn't tell if it was over the line or not. So I guess over the line = try; short = 5m scrum Ah, yes, gotcha. You are indeed correct (both of you) After the deliberation, the TMO said to go back to the onfield decisi...

Re: Leinster vs Cheetahs 15/2/20 14.30

When you consider the dross that Scotland/England served up under similar conditions, the standard was quite high today. I think Whitehouse was quite lenient on our scrum, could have given a yellow card earlier and got the game going again.

Re: Leinster vs Cheetahs 15/2/20 14.30

Sean Cronin          It went backwards off his head! I was laughing too hard to see if the ball actually crossed the line onto the pitch. If it hadn't, would Cronin have been entitiled to "re"-throw it? He made a big deal about changing the tow...

Re: Leinster v Lyon, 12th Jan 13:00

What jumps out at me from the teamsheet is that Larmour has more leinster caps than Henshaw (44 vs 42). He's only been playing a wet week!
My New Year's wish is that Robbie gets an injury-free run for this latter half of the season.

Re: Lyon v Leinster R2 HCC 23 Nov 2019

A tough away win in France in poor conditions against their league leaders, I'm delighted with that. Our defense alone was worth watching. My main gripe was the camera work failing to follow open play. Notable screw-ups were when Sexton's penalty came off the posts, and at least once when Lyon took ...

Re: HEC R1 Leinster v Treviso Sat 3.15 BT Sports

Aside from the game... today was the first time I've experienced a significant delay getting into the ground, there was a very slow moving queue into Block K. I rocked up at the RDS about 15 min before kick-off and got to my seat just in time. I think this was due to the young steward inside the gro...

Re: Leinster v Glasgow Sat 15.00 Eir

Ross Byrne reminds me more and more of Jimmy Gopperth. He is practically useless. He can’t pass, he has no pace, he can’t tackle and takes the ball so that he can’t make a line break. Radical surgery needed at half back. We need to splash the cash. Gopperth's pace was a feature in defence, many a t...

Re: Leinster v Glasgow Sat 15.00 Eir

I travel down from Meath to get to matches - had no idea that I couldn't get a dart from Connolly southward. I walked over to Tara which was closed, and was about to walk on to Pearse St Station when I overheard others reading the notices say that Pearse was closed too. I have no idea what bus goes ...

Re: Bloodgate: 10 years on

Harlequins certainly weren't the only ones gaming the rules when it came to blood substitutions. They were just really stupid as to how they tried it. During the game I couldn't figure out how Williams got injured because I couldn't recall him being involved in the play so it was interesting to hea...

Re: Leinster v Glasgow Sat 15.00 Eir

Thought O’Brien played well, him and Doris basically took on most of the carrying on their own in the first half he didn’t have the luxury of Cronin, Furlong and Healy to assist him. I would be much happier about where he is with respect to next week after this performance. He is not the old SOB bu...

Re: Leinster v Ulster: AVIVA, Heino QF

Watching the highlights after being at the match - the Ringrose blockdown looks worse with each viewing. He ran sideways, then slowed down to kick. Two Ulster players right on him, but there were multiple Leinster forwards close by for protection if he took it into contact and fought to buy a few se...

Re: Toulouse vs Leinster

I really enjoyed that match. My attention wandered through the Wasps rout, but this was a proper game. Leinster will be the better for it. The poster that said that the champions shouldn't be learning any more? That doesn't hold for any sport. The other quality sides study the top opposition and ada...

Re: Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15

He threw a ball at someone. I was only half watching so not sure of the context. Aye. That were it. Ball in the face. Then mouthed off at the ref (not the only time he mouthed off at the ref though). He comes across as so petulant on the pitch . Very true, but only in a Connacht shirt. I figure he ...

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

Watching TG4 highlights last night, Barnes really did have a shocker. It was more what he didn't do. Tacklers not rolling away (especially by R92), lazy runners, side entry (both teams) and off the feet were just ignored by him. He needed his linesmen to tell him about the many neck rolls and less ...

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

Watched on a big screen, the TV angle was not at all clear whether the drop was going wide, and the Sky commentators can't have had a great angle cos they weren't calling it as it traveled. I and those around me first realized it was going wide by all the blue flags waving behind the posts. Thank yo...
