Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

There is a lot to play for both teams. If Leinster lose, they are effectively out of the Pro14 running. Munster will relish the chance to kill them off. https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2021/0122/1191359-lenihan-munster-tide-turning-as-another-derby-looms/ Perhaps maths is not his strong point

Re: Pro14 - Sooner SA teams the better

Chatting to a friend today and he was saying that the new format will see each team play each other once, with the addition of derby matches. For the purpose of derby games the Scots and the Italians will be grouped. That will be a massive benefit to the Scottish teams who have an additional opport...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

It may also mean that the final will be held in TP, depending how the rest of the season goes. How do you make that out? Both Ulster and Leinster currently have more points than Munster. Don't Munster still have to come play in the RDS also? If Munster win without Leinster getting a point it would ...

I wonder when his quote/unquote purely speculatory, alleged, no proof here... ban.... comes to an end? Was it 1 year? what was it for? was there even a ban? Am I understanding correctly? Are you alleging that he was not injured but being internally disciplined by the IRFU for some offence, but they...

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

I wouldn’t cut Kelleher, but sadly it does seem like Adam Byrne could be deemed surplus to requirements. He hasn’t played in over a year. Not sure how much we would be paying him but his salary would probably come close to funding two development contracts for Sylvester / O’Sullivan. If Leinster ha...

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport

I'm not a fan of this 6-2 split thing. It used to be 4-3 back when there was only one prop on the bench. Do you really need two extra forwards? Maybe Max O'Reilly or Andrew Smith would have had a bit more rugby under their belts and been a bit more experienced going into the Connacht game if they'd...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

We have two games in hand don’t we? Yes we do - away to Munster and away to Scarlets Btw, the utterly stupid new 16 round Pro whatever we're playing has us playing away to Munster, Scarlets and Benetton while Ulster got to play all three at home. They were away to Connacht, Cardiff and Edinburgh - ...

So with only 6 days between games there's no chance we'll be seeing Sexton or Penny this Friday - or have they changed the Return to Play Protocols?
Its a five day process provided each step is passed.
Ah thanks Dave - for some reason I thought it was 7 days

Oh ffs!!! All tests have now come back negative - if the medical advisory committee had just held the whisht for a couple of hours the game could have gone ahead.

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

Aungier was behind Salanoa was he not? Not really, Augnier had marginally more minutes in marginally more games - but they're very small numbers. Nothing in it really Aungier made 5 appearances (81 minutes) including both games against Glasgow and away against Ospreys and Munster Salanoa made 3 app...

Re: England v Ireland 21 November 15:00

he means that Farrell is also a player that was "signed by the IRFU with a view to play for Ireland", which is obviously a ridiculous point as he was eligible to play for Ireland when in Grenoble. The IRFU brought him back as they did with Sexton, Beirne, Madigan etc as they want Irish players in I...

From Russ Petty on Twitter: "Leinster's previous 10 games at the RDS in Pro14 = scored 53, 40, 50, 54, 54, 36, 55, 35, 63, 50 points" Last time Leinster scored less than 30 points in the RDS was v Munster in May 2019 (PRO14 semi final) - it’s also the last game in the RDS where they didn’t get a bo...

Re: Pro14 - Sooner SA teams the better

I didn’t love (but accepted because of our success) in the Schmidt era where we knew we would throw a game here and there (eg in Connacht) and we would use it to motivate us to peak in a bigger game. Ouch - what a dreadful suggestion. I'm sure that deliberately 'throwing' games is the sort of thing...
