Re: Movie Thread

Loved BvS. Affleck was excellent. Can't wait to see him in Suicide Squad (though it's probably just going to be a cameo).

Re: Leinster v Bath: what's in it for us?

winning a few games in the Rabo hardly counts for much these days As well as getting Leinster closer to silverware it counts towards seeding for the HECNua pools. We finished 5th last season and were in Tier 3 for the draw. Winning the Pro12 puts us in Tier 1. While there are no easy pools going in...

Re: Leinster v Bath: what's in it for us?

Leo needs it more than anything else as his tenure ship hangs by a thread. Too right. Seven league wins a in a row, comfortably 2nd in the table and playing exciting rugby? Leo out! I believe Leinster have to win this but I also believe Leinster will win this leaving us with pride restored, further...

Just started on Into The Badlands. The fight scenes are impressive though I'm not bought into the premise yet.

Re: Toulon v Leinster

Agreed, not sure about our attack coaching either to be honest. I think we should have gone looking for an attack coach in the southern hemisphere. I also wonder whether we should have a more senior "director of rugby" type role to mentor Leo (Graham Henry maybe - think he's doing something similar...

Re: Toulon v Leinster

Whatever about the match, I thought Leo's post-match interview left a lot to be desired. I mean, the guy had a week to prepare for a grilling on camera about losing this match, and he came across like a deer in the headlights of 4x4. Instead of addressing the deficits his team displayed, he offered...

Re: Ireland v France 11/10/2015

Yeah, I know that the injury seems to be unrelated to the hits. It just feels wrong that they can state to the media that he's their target and then see him have to leave the field injured. A topic for discussion in the silly season maybe. There's plenty of rugby to talk about in the meantime.

Re: Punch Drunk - the boxing thread

From the World Championships in Doha Ireland have a bronze medal for Michael O'Reilly, at least a silver for Michael Conlan and Joe Ward fights tonight to upgrade his bronze to at least a silver and to secure his place in Rio 2016. Michael O'Reilly faces the other middleweight bronze medalist, Egypt...

Re: Ireland v France 11/10/2015

If a team states they are going to target a player and then that player has to be subbed through injury after 25 minutes is there no punishment or sanction that can be handed to the offending team? The NFL hit the Saints with massive punishments for similar bounty hunting. Anyway, all that aside I'm...

Guaranteed at least a playoff and automatic qualification is a real possibility. That's a lot better than most people were hoping for.

Sports science and research? How about this then: Reductions in pre-season training loads reduce training injury rates in rugby league players - http://bjsm.bmj.com/content/38/6/743.full

How does a small player base cause injuries to the Welsh players?

Re: Next England Coach & Captain

Pre season is supposed to be hard, supposed to push you to breaking point, thats how training works, you stress your body and then you adapt. Everyone is talking about the Welsh boys and how unlucky they are with joint injuries. Now, this is just my opinion having played the game for my entire adol...

I can't see a team announced anywhere but Superbru's Fantasy World Cup has named it: Rob, Dave, Luke, Earls, Payne, Sexton, Murray, Ross, Best, McGrath, O'Connell, Henderson, Heaslip, O'Brien, O'Mahony Bench: Zebo, Madigan, Reddan, Henry, Ryan, Cronin, White, Healy Earls and Payne are listed as cent...

Re: Springboks swamped by Japanese TSUNAMI.

Is it not traditional to wait for a major international sporting event to finish before talking about how doomed the next one is? We heard the stadiums wouldn't be ready for London 2012 and Brazil 2014. I presume Rio 2016 is about 3 years behind schedule so of course Tokyo 2019 should be at least th...

Re: NFL

I've just seen the very disappointing news that Channel 4 have lost the NFL rights to BBC who will show a massive 4 live games this season. The 4 games are the 3 London games and the Superbowl. They'll also have a highlights show starting in November.

Re: Punch Drunk - the boxing thread

IABA putting the amateur back in boxing again. After last week's Billy Walsh fiasco they've named him as coach for the tournament in Poland next week without saying anything at all about what that actually means for his current position and whether they've resolved their differences or not.
