Its more likely that they are looking at Dundon for next year given that JHW is not having his contract renewed.Xanthippe wrote:It's also possible that he's doing exams this weekjohng wrote:Because JHW must have a knockmaccer wrote:I can't undertsand why Strauss is even on the bench.

Re: Shannon swoop for Keogh as player coach
It was made pretty clear to him that he would be playing no part with Leinster next year. They offered to buy out the remaining years of his contract. By all accounts Jason Harris-Wright's contract is not being renewed also.Benji wrote: A bit young to be quiting the pro game

Clongowes must be one of the biggest senior teams in history. It looked like men versus boys. I know that Pres Bray were missing 5 from their pack but in every single position they looked bigger.

Re: Schools Rugby 2010/11 - SCT
Wandered over to the Belfield Bowl to watch Skerries C.C play Pres Bray today. I'm not sure of the final score but it looked like Pres got past 50 points. Their winger Ferdia Kenny scored at least 4. Its my first time to see him play and I doubt their is a faster school's player in Ireland. Skerries...

Re: Sean Cronin rumours
I have a feeling that Jason Harris-Wright is going to end up at Connacht next season which would be a good move for him long term. At the moment he probably gets the least game time of any player in the squad. He is not anywhere near the level of Strauss yet so won't get many minutes for the senior ...

Re: Schools Talent Drain to England
The school's have a responsibility to give each student the best opportunities they can. If a school thinks a player could do better in England, they should certainly explore that possibility. Mick Dawson going to St Michael's to complain about links to English clubs is the equivalent to Hugh Brady ...

Re: IRFU Jeopardise the future of schools rugby !!
This is where are I believe the structure is wrong. How good would our adults be if everyone was working on individual skills for all of their rugby playing career up to say 16, rather than getting 1st years (some who have never even touched a rugby ball before) ready to play games and enter the U1...

Re: IRFU Jeopardise the future of schools rugby !!
The schools interest begins and ends at the school gate, they are not interested in developing players for the long-term future of Irish rugby they are interested in winning the schools cup (I am referiing section b/c schools). It could easily be argued that the lack of Irish props can be laid dire...

Re: What to do if we really fall into crisis.
Whoever is appointed as the defense coach must be an experienced coach who also commands immediate respect. We have the most inexperienced coaching staff in the Heineken Cup - with a first time head coach, a second season, recently retired forwards coach a recently retired from playing skills coach....

Re: Schools Rugby 2010/11 - SCT
Any players we should be looking out for as the next big thing? I know the Gerard's number 8 from last year is back and Clongowes have a few back of note. There is a winger , F Kenny who has scored 3 tries for Leinster this year but I don't know who he plays for or if he is even a school's player (w...

Blackrock have an unbelievable team by all accounts. Apparently St Andrew's are supposed to be good too (but I find that pretty hard to take that too seriously). I'm going for a CUS double myself.

Re: Kurt has gotta stay
Kurt may be from the SH but he has lived in Ireland since 1992, played nearly all his adult rugby here, was capped for Ireland, captained Bective and Leinster, coached Lansdowne and Greystones. His rugby philosophy is formed from 18 years in the Northern Hemisphere and he has said in the past that h...

Re: New schools league structure
Got the information yesterday. The rational is that some schools have been getting well beaten every week in the league year after year with only the odd decent season which for these schools might mean two or three league wins. The division 2 sides never threaten the semi finals as the league was. ...

Re: Schools Rugby 2009-10 - SCT
To be fair to Clongowes, they have suspended one of their Junior players for the incident in their Junior Cup game (according to the Junior Cup thread). He wasn't sent off in the game and their was no tv cameras so they were under no obligation to take action. Their JCT coach obviously took the mora...

Re: Schools Rugby 2009-10 - SCT
Unbelievable precedent set by the Leinster branch. The red card stands but no punishment was given because of a lack of clear video evidence (allegedly). The touch judge, appointed by the branch is ignored (allegedly). I have never played in front of the tv cameras like 99.9% of rugby players in Lei...
