Re: Leinster A '20-21'

Said it many times that I'm all for us pushing the envelope and don't mind seeing mistakes when we try risky passes or offloads because we need to do it year round to be ready for the big games in Europe (and for Ireland) but I think we've lost sight (at senior and A level) of the need to get our ba...

Re: Leinster A '20-21'

Best player on pitch is a Leinster boy ...... unfortunately its Izuchukwu He's been superb. Whenever I see an explosive athlete at the lower levels I look to see if they're involving themselves in the game or just being chucked the ball the whole time. He's been reading things brilliantly and looke...

Re: Leinster A '20-21'

Hard to know what the long term plan is but at the very least I’m very happy that the coaches see Baird as an option at 6. That line up is a perfect example of why I think it works, look at the second row we’re able to pick and still have Baird involved. Really like the look of that pack, very big b...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Sorry just to clarify, we all get news from elsewhere (the journal is probably my main one now because of twitter) but in terms of actual papers the IT is still very much a thing for people my age. Funnily enough, a lot of people were messaging earlier about the homeless man in UCD who was found dea...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I’d disagree too. It’s the only paper I ever buy (not daily) and a lot of my friends would be the same, or at least it’s the only Irish paper that they’d read online. That and the guardian are pretty much the only papers/websites we all read. I realise this is very small example but even at the barb...

It’s almost like there are different people running the commercial side and the operational side.

Re: Pro 16

Yep, I don't understand why it wasn't a bigger deal at the time. From my own POV I didn't talk about it on here partly because I'm just fed up with the constant changes over the years so it led to me being apathetic about the whole thing, but this news today (not that the Rainbow Cup has actually be...

Re: Pro 16

So what’s the back up plan for this now over the next couple of months? And who is responsible for the stupidity of arranging the Rainbow Cup for April? I presume Martin Anayi as Pro14 CEO holds the ultimate responsibility – he is tasked with executing the instructions of the board. Doubtless he ca...

McCloskey just never turns up in big games like this. I used to be a big fan of his but time and time again he doesn’t show up when it counts. Can’t remember one decent carry from him tonight.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Anyone who ever said Ross Byrne is slow needs to apologise to him immediately! What an intercept! That was a brilliant second half from us. Really controlled but dangerous as well. Lineout went to sh!t and Luke’s error near the end could have been very costly but apart from that it was an excellent ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

I hope Cronin was either tired or his knee was injured because he should have stayed on for longer. That’s not just hindsight, he was playing really well.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Breakdown costing us again, think we’ve largely looked good but then got turned over at bad times. Thought it was stupid to go for that short kick from the start again, we just ended up defending for the next few minutes and don’t think we had much possession or territory in that first 15 minutes. C...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

That pass that JGP loves really is very hard to defend. Brilliant from him and a great finish. So happy to be wrong about DK, I had written him off ages ago.

Ulster started very aggressively but seem to have run out of steam in the last few minutes.

Hopefully the pitch is being protected against Frost as yet another Weather Warnings drops into my in-box
Bit worried about this now, pitches near me are pretty much frozen solid even though they get the sun.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Questions, questions, questions. Why Warwick ahead of O'Sullivan, who's on the bench? Why Jones ahead of Timoney, who's on the bench? Why McIlroy ahead of Gilroy, and why Moxham on the bench? Why Cronin instead of Kelleher? Why Jack Conan on the bench instead of DL - or just giving him a reason not...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

So johnny to pull out after the captains run, Ross to 10 and JOB to 13 - odds? There’s no way they’re lining up like that but I doubt your scenario will play out because surely JOB would be starting if he was good to go? I’d say he’s more/as likely to drop out as Johnny. I expect Ross at 12 and Rob...

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport

We got the first ball back because Carty dropped it, not because we did well. Really don’t see how putting up a ball that only goes just outside the 22 is a good option, that’s just asking for trouble. And hesitating and missing the chance to clear your lines and throwing a pass to a rookie fullback...

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport

I think that far too simplistic an analysis and I’d disagree with it. Well I mean it's literally what happened. I didn't mention your 'confirmation bias' at all, you took that to be aimed at you for some reason. We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm not saying Sexton played well, he just didn't do t...
