Larmour in the papers saying he has been working on stepping in at 1st/2nd receiver.
Hope that goes ok. It'll tax his skill set. He's a stepper and a damn fine one. Decide and distribute isnt for everyone.

Re: Wing going forward

Also to clarify. Both Knox and Salanoa are already qualified. So are not subject to 5 year rule. My point was that if we sign a project in the future it would have to be someone LIKE these 2. The Irfu took full advantage of the last year of the 3 year qualifying. These 2 plus Lowe, Butler and Cloet...

Re: Corona Virus

You're not supposed to think about the sausage factory.

Farmers will block Kildare St., agrifood is big business and food prices are a national issue. FIFO workers don't really exist in Irish public life.

Re: Wing going forward

No one in the Irish system to take advantage afaik. Lowe, Butler and Cloete all qualify this year. Al 4 of Ulster's are NIE and both of Munster's. Fardy for us. Porch for Connacht Fainga'a would have been ok for connacht but he's gone. No one else in the system bar possibly a new signing or 2 for c...

He’s not going to call it a preseason run about. The IRFU would end him.

Re: Tighthead Prop going forward

Furlong and Porter need game time before the internationals start, so they’re available for the end of the season.

Once they go into camp we will see how we are. Maybe we try with Bent and Clarkson while Aungier and Salanoa ride pine. Funny how often that happens.

3rd choice and 3rd choice behind 2 automatic choice internationals are quite different things.

Didn’t work out that well for Leinster. 1 guy still in the squad, and he had to switch positions.

Re: Connacht 2019/20

Lam was a prestige coach on a mission to improve Connacht and had resources thrown at him. Friend is in a different position and has more sustainable goals. He's an IRFU man and I think that's a good thing. Develop skills and players and see where that takes you. Connacht have built enough support t...

Re: Stash Watch 2020/21

Doubtful there'll be new kits this season, bit of a luxury purchase for fans who may not want to splash out in these "uncertain times", likely to be limited opportunities for fans to watch teams live until 2021 so again affecting numbers of jerseys sold if you can't water it to the game. Teams need...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

We have 3-4 matches to get up to speed for Saracens. I imagine we’re going to want to get the expected match day squad up to speed for that. We also don’t want to flog them when bodies haven’t adapted so that means targeting shorter games. Easy for the front rows. Unusual build up for us. Probably w...

Re: Wing going forward

ROL doesn’t need to pass those guys to play for Ireland. There are other players and he needs to focus on playing well. Of Ireland’s first 4 centres, only Ringrose can play wing. Of Ireland’s first 4 wingers only Earls can play centre (break glass at this point). But that doesn’t help ROL if Farrell...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

It's a televised preseason warm up, with a smaller crowd. Munster have something to play for. The absolute peak for Munster was the 2009 QF. Looked better than 2006 & 2008, heavily favoured, dominant selection for the Lions and a Grand Slam for Ireland. Munster were beaten by Biarritz in the 2010 se...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

AFAIK, they’re back in full training. An outbreak now could scuttle preparations for the restart of the season.

Rugby players have to be more careful off the pitch because there are 46 people who’ll be on it, and everyone they’ve come in contact with.

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

They should be isolating. If all the players isolate then the chances of matches going ahead is higher.
