Re: Heineken Champions Cup Final 2023
I don't buy into the "catastrophic" narrative as if the stars have somehow aligned and we are entitled to win it or it's "ours to lose". We're not and it's not. LAR have assembled an incredible team...and it's stronger than last year, playing a more varied game than just the bis...

Re: Scrap the Lions?
Make it the European Lions or the Six Nations Lions or scrap it. Otherwise it's just an English imperial jolly.

Re: Hamstring (and other muscular) injuries
Perhaps Leinster should be putting a lot more emphasis on stretching and slightly less on power exercises. I don't know what their weekly S&C routine is there but I would really hope that they have intense Pilates or yoga classes. Seriously. The benefits are just as notable and important as the...

Re: Sneak Peak - RDS Redevelopment Plans
If you're relying on the name of a stadium to strike fear into the hearts of the opposition its time to take up dungeons and dragons You say that, but if the makers of the Doom video game stepped in, you'd be pretty happy about it. The Stadium of Doom. I like it. The Carlsberg Coliseum would be pre...

Re: Sneak Peak - RDS Redevelopment Plans
Agree "Royal" in the name of something has huge significance - it attracts the "right kind of people" don't you know (You and me like). The Dublin Horse Show is called the Royal Dublin Horse Show as opposed to the Royal Dublin Society Horse Show, I think. Laya Royal Dublin Stadi...

Re: Sneak Peak - RDS Redevelopment Plans
I guess it's safe to say that we'll all just continue to call it the RDS.
As for stadiums that intimidate the opposition...the Principality Stadium would be high on the list...

Re: Sneak Peak - RDS Redevelopment Plans
Apparently it's going to be renamed the Laya Healthcare Arena. Quite possibly the worst stadium renaming I've ever heard. Definitely won't strike fear into the hearts of the opposition. Even "The Aviva" sounds way better than it...

Re: Sneak Peak - RDS Redevelopment Plans
It looks like the re-development won't happen until after next season, the last message was that the same season ticket arrangements would be in place for 2017-2018. I think they're working on getting permission for a roof on the north and south stands which would allow them to re-locate all season...

Re: The Mayor of Wexford
Clongowes and Belvo count as the south side of Dublin The Liffey delineates between Dublin's North and South sides. Belvedere College is North of the Liffey, ergo in North Dublin. If Congowes College is south of the Liffey, then it could be argued that it is MAYBE south side of dublin. More importa...

We're going to put Wasps to the sword. We are going to absolutely destroy them. False modesty from earlier posters be damned.

You are wrong about the jersey also. http://365.worldrugbyshop.com/the-story-of-the-british-irish-lions-in-10-jerseys/ Here's the jersey history for you. It has always been either red, white or blue (for Wales, England and Scotland) or a mix of the three colours. There has never been green except u...

Re: Friday 13th January 7.45pm Leinster v Montpelier(RDS/Sky
Best and most invigorating Leinster performance in the last couple of years. The sense of power and purpose from them was amazing. If we can get the home QF and SF then it looks like we have a really serious chance of making the final. After that anythings possible. Munster in Murrayfield anyone? Re...

Re: Toner signs central contract for 3 years
I think the relevance has changed for the Lions, not diminished. It's still an amazing platform to state your case, as a player, in terms of recognition. Selection marks you out, and a few good performances can change the narrative of how your career is remembered. Look at guys like Kevin Maggs and...

Re: November Internationals 2014
I was worried enough to start a thread a few months ago about whether or not we'd kick on from the last 6N, but I'm not overly concerned about the next few weeks. Our first 15 is still very strong. Fingers crossed, at least 6 of our starting pack from the 6N will be starting next week. I'd imagine ...

Re: November Internationals 2014
We are in serious danger of getting a hiding at home to South Africa with all these injuries mounting up. The Boks have played 6 matches in the RC and have had a few weeks rest since so they are battle hardened and not at all rusty. Not to mention they are playing better all the time and have recent...

Re: Wasps Petition.
WTF has any of this got to do with us? You think if Leinster were moving to Dundalk that any English Premiership fans would give a sh!t? Beckenham Wasp and Co were all about survival of the fittest and cheering on the big money. I won't be losing any sleep. This thread is in the wrong forum anyway. ...
