Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

Munster Squad update: https://www.munsterrugby.ie/2020/08/...full-training/ It appears that Salanoa , Beirne, Carbery, Goggin and Haley will be unavailable for the game. They've broken their new toy already? We should take their toys away from the turnips until they learn to play nice with them.

Re: Tighthead Prop going forward

Furlong and Porter need game time before the internationals start, so they’re available for the end of the season. Once they go into camp we will see how we are. Maybe we try with Bent and Clarkson while Aungier and Salanoa ride pine. Funny how often that happens. Will Aungier be riding pine at Con...

Re: Organised Sunbathing aka Cricket

Although against a second string England side, Ireland yesterday beat England in a one day match beating their previous record chase set at the world cup in 2011.

I don't think there is any Adidas kit which is not the same colour shorts and shirt. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Quins anyway.

Then Blues (navy shorts), Canes (black v yellow jersey), Crusaders (black v red jersey).
That's me told

Re: Stash Watch 2020/21

With the Irish rangecoming in august and all the Leinster kit heavily discounted on Lifestyle have we any idea when there might be some new gear? Home jersey is def due a refresh. Not just that! Since Adidas took over our shorts are the same colour as the jerseys, making for a monotone, boring sart...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

Has top potential.. will he reach the very top level at Munster? TBD. Leinster will survive without. By god you're really turning up the bitterness levels against Munster in recent days! Still a month to go til the big kick off, hold some of it in! It's hardly bitterness to point out the fact that ...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd

Interesting that it seems all Irish province matches will be in the Aviva by the looks of it. My guess is that they're going to keep the teams in a bubble for the 2 weeks?

The query was based on no fans attending, RDS would be more favoured ground for our lads
We possible have already agreed to use the stadium for this game, and so would be breaching contract if we moved it.

Re: Hooker options going forward

One thing changing a loose head to tight head but changing someone to prop from fresh is too tall an order at professional level in my view I disagree with this. Propping isn't some magical world where you have to have worked in the dark for years to come good, it can be taught and learned quickly ...

Re: Hooker options going forward

If Barron and Dan Sheahan are the better prospects at hooker, and Bobby Sheahan may find it difficult to transition to 6, I wonder could we mould him into a very tall, athletic prop, like Jager, Hayman, Tu'ungafasi, Ta'avao, etc.? interesting idea but can't see it happening myself. One thing changi...

Re: South African Rugby

With cycling on and off steroids, masking agents, 'designer' steroids etc., the flaws inherent with tests, it is not very difficult to pass a test even as a doper. I would say the real numbers of South African kids doing gear is far higher. It is amazing how in denial and defensive South Africans a...

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

Leicester have confirmed that the 5 players (including Noel Reid) have left.

Leicester surely must be opening themselves up to a legal battle due to breach of contract? A mutual end of contract doesn't make much sense for Noel as he won't really get that great a deal going elsewhere?

Re: Recent Technical Issues

Don't know if this an option, but other forums have a feature that if I click on a thread with unread posts, it brings me straight to the last post I read rather than me having to work out where I left off. If that was on the list it would be great. And in 5 mins - knowing my history - someone is g...

Thanks for the offer FLIP, but I should have the requisite skills to make any required upgrades, it's mostly the getting up off my fat arse to do them part that holds me back.
As a fellow owner of a fat arse I compliment you on your getting off it. Shiny new upgrade!

Re: Loosehead Prop going forward

If you look at Munster's scrum or indeed compare his and Healy's scrummaging in this year's 6N there isn't much evidence for what you're saying above. Now I think Healy is still a better player (and a better scrummager overall), but the gap has definitely narrowed. If you can't tell angles of scrum...

Not straight in the scrum is far easier to see than in from the side, and once you've seen it once there's only one place you need to check each time.

Re: Loosehead Prop going forward

I don’t quite get the ‘Kilcoyne good’ reference - He’s good around the field ok ( given space) but he’s a really bad ( and always illegal) scrummager Don't think that's the case any more. He has hugely improved in this area. In fact he was building a good case to be ahead of Healy during the 6N. I ...
