Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

Who do they have Munster down to play as that club might be our QF opponents. Munster to be Home to Clermont! Not sure if that is correct. From todays graudian . Assuming that ECPR go with the normal top v bottom approach for the knockout stages: Leinster v Gloucester , Wasps v Exeter, Bordeaux-Bèg...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

Agreed I think the problem with DeAllande for some less educated fans is that he doesn’t carry 100 metres a game and smash opposition, so they equate this as being poor. I have also heard this from Johnny come lately Munster fans, so not a dig at Leinster fans just in case I get misinterpreted. For...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

For a marquee player on top tier cash, de Allende has not looked value for money, outshone by centres on half the cash. Wouldn't agree with that at all. I think he has been really good. Agreed I think the problem with DeAllande for some less educated fans is that he doesn’t carry 100 metres a game ...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

The gap has definitely been narrowed. Munster have greatly improved, we, for the most part, have stayed the same. The same strengths and the same weaknesses as the last season. It’s been a fascinating watch. So much investment has gone into the Munster project over the last few years with Carbery b...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

They have closed the gap. The pilfering of the Leinster squad and decline of Sexton have weakened Leinster's squad, while world class, expensive imported players from South Africa and (and a fair few players from Leinster) have strengthened Munster's. Ah sure, only one of those expensive signings f...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

Knox out for a while after sustaining a knee injury during the Connacht game. Makes it even more damning that Connacht didn’t attack Munster’s 7 man scrum. Knox is an inexperienced TH, but he was also injured going into the last scrum, granted Connacht may not have known that. Hopefully he has a spe...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

Great news to have this to look forward to, especially as we will likely see 2 very strong teams bar the intervention of Covid. The lack of a crowd will be a big loss for Munster, so I would favour Leinster for this one. Munster will be hoping that Kelleher starts, and they can go after him in the l...

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

The squad isn’t that big - only one player more than Munster in the senior squad. 45 players is a pretty standard size. Seems larger because of heavy academy involvement. We have 5 players in year 3 of the academy so they’ll be in line for promotions / the chop. Personally I think only backrow is a...

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

Given the current size of the Leinster squad a reduction seems inevitable, In addition, given how successful your academy is at developing players, you would expect a number of graduates to move to senior contracts. What players do you believe will be let go at the end of this season? Alternatively,...

Re: Stuart Lancaster joining Leinster

Neil Francis saying Lancaster is out of contract this season and Sale are a threat, none of which is exactly news but thought i'd update this thread anyway. With the ongoing Covid saga, you couldn’t blame him for wanting a return home. You’d imagine that he has been stuck in Ireland for much of the...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

This forum has gone very quiet of late. I hope you are all keeping well. Munster grind out another victory, which was almost a loss only for Connacht ineptitude at the end. Connacht with 15 against 13 should have worked the ball out the backs and search for the inevitable gaps. The game was never go...

Shows how much you know, I’d say he has been first choice for at least 4/5 years of that decade We weren’t talking about Irish rugby and his achievements there, it’s a Leinster forum, don’t know if you realise that Maybe stick to the Munster one, they’ve produced plenty of “limited” players the las...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Well Done on the victory. It doesn’t guarantee that you will top the table, but it fair to say that Leinster would want to completely implode for them not to. You would have to wonder about coaching when you see that none of the Leinster hookers can hit their man consistently. When Cronin is your b...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

Connacht side is also very strong, with 3 players included who are very familiar with Munster. Wooten will be eager to put his best foot forward in an effort to show that he is worth a return to Munster. Connacht: John Porch; Ben O’Donnell, Sammy Arnold, Tom Daly; Alex Wooton; Jack Carty, Caolin Bla...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

Very strong Munster team named for tomorrow’s game. Interesting that Killer and Ryan are not in the squad given their lack of gametime over the last while. I wonder if this means that Josh W will be retained for the upcoming HC games?? Also Haley at fullback over Daly is interesting, and perhaps a h...

I agree fully that it is great to see rugby back, and I have enjoyed more than any previous season given the break that rugby had, and the sh!t that we have all went through.
