Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

Last I saw they would suspend relegation but still allow a single team to be promoted each year. So that’d be a 13 team division next season and 14 for year 2. That may have changed so happy to be corrected if so. I think you're correct FwS. The Rugby paper reported https://twitter.com/TheRugbyPape...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

correction. They have scrapped relegation this season in the premiership, which means Salarycens (or Ealing!!!) will have to wait until the 2022/23 season for promotion!!!!! That is a lot of time for a bunch of english internationals to be playing in the championship....

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

Saracens lose 27-26 to Ealing Trailfinders in a warm-up game for the Championship. With Billy V and Koch playing too. schadenfreude aside...I wouldn't read too much into this. the rest of their internationals are on "pre-season" training which I read as shorthand for 6N training. this was a warm up...

Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

Who do they have Munster down to play as that club might be our QF opponents. Munster to be Home to Clermont! Not sure if that is correct. From todays graudian . Assuming that ECPR go with the normal top v bottom approach for the knockout stages: Leinster v Gloucester , Wasps v Exeter, Bordeaux-Bèg...

Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

Getting back to the rugby for a second...... The papers are indicating that one of the options available now is to abandon the last two rounds and go straight into a last 16 knockout competition. In that scenario we'd be at home to Gloucester. I suppose at least it would be a competitive ga...

Re: Donald Trump - Have your say.

The English Tory party today is barely distinct from the 1970s BNP in terms of policy. It's not like history doesn't warn us. It's that we refuse to listen. The UK has already fallen to a right wing coup. nobody noticed because it came via the likes of Rees Mogg and a blonde buffoon called Boris Jo...

Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

You could be right MNG but this one has more clubs considering their position. All up in the air though https://www.independent.ie/sport/rugby/champions-cup/racing-92-owner-says-french-teams-wont-pull-out-of-champions-cup-amid-covid-19-concerns-39929420.html didn't see that. interesting. Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

Rumours of the French clubs looking to jump from the challenge cups. If this happens I wonder will some Euro cup clubs (already out) look to do the same? This could end up looking very bad  Bayanne pulled out of the challenge cup because they blamed leicesters laxidasical approach for a covi...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Lots of extra edge to the game friday. can't wait. 6 rounds left to claw back 10 points with 1 game in hand (munster away) which is likely to be played during the 6N. I think we have more depth when the internationals are away, compared to Munster, so hopefully we can pinch 4 points in that game. Ev...

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport

well played connacht. thought they were much hungrier and played a blinder in the first half. took all the chances they had. lots for us to reflect upon but we cannot expect to win a game at this level with so many mistakes.

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

thanks munster. did us a favour tonight preventing an Ulster BP. After 20 mins I didn't see it happening...especially when coetzee came on but fair play, that was a decent ulster team against a lot of young, inexperienced munster players.

strong winds and rain forecast for sat night. going to be a manky night which might suit munster more than us. that said...based on current form I think we still have the edge. 9-15 is my guess at score.

2017 : Narrative: Leinster disrespecting the fixture by sending a team of kids to be slaughtered at Thomond Park. The likes of Jordan Larmour, Ross Byrne, Jamison Gibson-Park and James Ryan (who all played that day) were clearly not ready but within a few months had all played for Ireland, many win...

munster are similarly ravaged by injuries and internationals on rest weeks.....could make for an interesting game rather than 1st against 1sts clash. munster confidence must be up after their comeback against clermont at the weekend - which was superb.

Leinster scrum

excellent analysis of our new scrummaging approach...spotted it on twitter yesterday and I know it was mentioned on here but this is well worth a click.
