Re: Pro 14 2020-2021 season

Relegation would be a non-starter for a B&I format. Imagine a province got relegated and thus didn't get to play interpros the following season. The English teams wouldn't be long getting annoyed at continually losing to Leinster and Munster if that came to pass. Look at what Munster did away to Gl...

Re: Donald Trump - Have your say.

didn't watch it but caught the lowlights. Jayziz.....americans must be feeling so proud right now. boris must be delighted, trump makes him look good. The truly jaw dropping moment for me was Trump telling the "proud boys" to "stand by"......after been asked if he would condemn far right racists. th...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Bristol versus Bordeaux gave a good tactical example of how to outwit a bigger more abrasive pack by taking quick penalties and varying line-out numbers, but sometimes even mauling a four man line-out. From half-time onwards they managed to keep the tempo high and along the way, including injury ti...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Could someone please briefly explain the change in the laws or change in its interpretation re the breakdown? I don't think it is a law change, rather stricter implementation of what happens around the jackal...e.g. tackler not rolling away quick enough, is more strictly refereed now and the player...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

I've just rewatched it for my sins. We didn't start with intensity. They did. How does that work? The match is in Dublin. Everyone knows what's at stake and the visitors are the one's playing for their lives? I don't care for Saracens. I hate the gloating and mocking of the opposition they indulge ...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

So, the win on Saturday was driven by "the determination to show that their recent success was not down to salary cap breaches" according to wigglesworth https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/sep/20/saracens-hail-special-victory-over-leinster-champions-cup They planned for this one-off game for wee...

hard to see anyone else other than dupont getting european player of the year award this season. feel for ulster.missing some key players.....gave it a good shot but toulouse are cruising. of the semi finals I have seen...I think only racing and clermont have the nous to beat saracens. exeter play l...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Beaten by the better side.. Not good enough.. What a gut punch i agree. mccall got the selection and tactics spot on. destroyed us in the scrum and our lineout wasn't exactly a solid platform. true, we made a lot of mistakes with knock-ons and some poor play in the 1st half but fair play to saracen...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

English media are tripping over themselves pointing out all the players Salarycens are missing from last years final in Newcastle. Well, look at the experience and top quality players we are missing from the same game squad: Rob Kearney, Furlong, Fardy, O’Brien, Tracy, O’Sullivan, Ruddock, Jack McGr...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

fair point. hope they're not shy on flagging up offsides....they like to defend very (very) high. not in a farrell way...but in an offside way... I've been watching this quite closely over the last few weeks and we've been as guilty as any other team tbf. Same goes for closing the gap at the lineou...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

strange choice of ARs and TMO all being irish. that said..george clancy couldn't be called a friend of leinster. Joy is from limerick I think. Not so strange in these times. Less travel involved from outside Ireland. And both ARs will be deliberately not want to be seen to favour the Irish side in ...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

you maybe right about targeting the short side. I think they might use wigglesworths box-kicking more than keep-ball and target our line-out. it is a big gamble for them to start with him at SH...he's 37 with lots of experience but hasn't played in quite a while, because of injury. their lineup is m...
