Re: European Champions Cup 23/24
As an aside, I bumped into one of the ECPR team on a flight from Dublin to Zurich a while back. He is from Cork and commutes regularly to Lausanne. I doubt they knew the FA cup final dates when they announced their European rugby weekend dates. It moves around a lot...usually the last sat in May. Lo...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24
A lot of the tickets already sold for the Investec final with a 2.45pm kick off stated would be a further issue. Especially with many having travel arrangements booked. While FA CUP Final tickets aren't released until after the semis. yep, it would be disruptive but they don't issue the tickets unt...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24
FA Cup Final is confirmed for a 3pm kick off, currently clashing with the rugby (2:45pm). Apparently the EPCR don't want to move the time as their audience in France is impacted with a later kick off with the French Cup Final PSG v Lyon and the Cannes Film Festival. Police moved forward the FA CUP ...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24
shame that there's a clash but I think London can absorb two massive events like this. Let's face it...lots of soccer stadia around London fill out most weekends in London, along with Hyde park concerts etc and it doesn't grind to a halt.

Re: The quickening 2024
There’s surely no chance of us flying players out for the second game? I’d have rather expected players to fly home. i would put mostly the same team out next week. give them a chance to redeem themselves, so to speak. flying out a cavalry is not a good idea imo. munsters win almost cancels out the...

Re: Top14 23/24
Another painful loss for La Rochelle yesterday. Sitting in 5th (top 6 teams go into the playoffs) 3 points clear of 10th place. Badly need a win against Toulon next week to stay in the mix and, at the very least, qualify for champions cup next season. Genuinely cannot see the special one cope too we...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
This year's trip to SA is very akin to last year's. Underresourced team. Surely we could have given Kelleher and Conan and Connors much needed game time? Andrew Osborne has got more opportunities than merited to my mind. His defensive reading makes Stockdale look good. But maybe that is down to our...

Re: The quickening 2024
3 points separates 5 to 11. squeaky bum time for Connacht & Ulster for the playoffs. Whatever happens now, it's been a great league this year. Probably the best in memory. Hugely competitive. agreed. I think the SA teams have been a fantastic addition to the URC. Shame about the welsh teams but...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
Not sure the selection was so bad, the performance was just terrible. A total sh1t show. Leinster had 62% possession, 73% territory, 232 passes vs 86 for Lions, Lions made 164 tackles vs 67 for Leinster - yet Lions carried for 449m vs 370m for Leinster and scored 44 points vs 12. Just shows how bad...

Re: The quickening 2024
Munster just did us a favour by beating the Bulls who got a losing bonus point. Let’s hope the Bulls beat Glasgow in a couple of weeks. yep. thanks munster! I agree with others: away win in Ulster and getting something from stormers game looks vital now to keep home fixtures. Bulls should beat glas...

Re: IRFU finances and provincial split.
Is that back of a beermat calculation? yep. a bit of guesswork from the IRFU financial statement from 2023 (which doesn't include details/accounts of the four provinces). from the guy who collated it: Following discussions about IRFU provinces' wage bills, here's a summary using reported figures fr...

Went back to start of rte coverage.First question go easy asks Donnacha the smiling buffoon is about Jordie Barrett and Doc says it was the most financially flexing week by any team ever in World rugby(French teams????). Utter garbage. Jordie Barrett has made it quite clear that he isn't joining us...
