Re: Actual Real Analysis... Unbelievable!!! (6 Nations)
People might disagree with individual points they make, which is fine. But the comparison between this analysis and the usual fare is stark in my opinion. Usually we get high level strategic detail only, e.g. Ireland analysis might say, we play a possession game and kick quite a bit, in our own half...

Actual Real Analysis... Unbelievable!!! (6 Nations)
We rarely, if ever, get actual real rugby analysis. This video from The 1014 Rugby on youtube is very good. It standouts against the usual fare we are served up which is mostly vague cliches and platitudes. Subscribe if you like this. It will encourage them to continue with this type of technical an...

Re: Scrap the Lions?
HERE COMES WISDOW... :) JSex played with a broken wrist in the last test. I feel this will make him [I don't really] an immeasurably better player for Ireland. This is because of the meme, that injuries, are well worth the experience of playing for the British-Lions. Let's see how this one plays out...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
Yep. I explained what I mean, you ignored that bit. I'd put more stead in Leo's opinion than any of ours, so whatever you or I think, as I said he has inordinately more information. This narrative about him being afraid of Sexton is just bizarre to be honest. As referenced above, the far more likel...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
He did act . Making the decision to keep Sexton on isn't passive. He's also operating on inordinately more information than you or I. Sexton might not've been playing well, but keeping one of your best players and biggest leaders on the pitch isn't an illogical choice, yet you're making it out to b...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
Makes perfect sense to me. His rationale for not acting doesn't concern me. The fact that he didn't ruthlessly take action, is the issue for me. I am confident/hopeful he will make the necessary adjustments next season. So you're disregarding the rationale for the decision and you wanted him to be ...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
Why he kept him on is irrelevant for me, the fact that he kept him on is more worrying . Neither the team nor Sexton benefitted from him being left on. Your comments on narrative must be from another thread, the game thread perhaps? Sorry but that doesn't make sense. No my comments are pertaining t...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
A lot of scoreboard journalism and outcome bias going on here, as usual. Well it is a forum. You gotta let us do a little Monday morning quarter backing  I realise it is Sunday... but no one says Sunday morning QB'ing It's far more likely that Leo decided to keep Sexton on because he's one of...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
Those are good indications that he is getting more comfortable making difficult selection decisions. Intra-game though, he hasn't made any big substitutions early in a game or at all. He would benefit from making an example of a big name player with an early substitution. This would send a message ...

Re: Comparing Leo to MOC
Competition is great and necessary but how many world class outhalves can we (be expected to) have? Dropping Toner was ruthless, could say the same about the treatment of a fair few of the forwards This kind of segues into frustration over the hookers/lineouts I suppose my point is that he wasn't w...

Re: Scrap the Lions?
I now have another reason to dislike the British Lions, it ruins the domestic season finale in the Home Countries and Italy. It would have been interesting to see how Leinster would have preformed against Scarlets, if they left all of the Lions out of the squad. A focused squad uncontaminated by Bri...
