Re: Ireland V Italy 24th October

Made a promise to myself a few years ago to avoid anything Hugh Cahill was involved in where possible. The unfounded arrogance dripping off him is something else. (See also - Cummiskey). Cummiskey and Cahill should be squeezed into a barrel together and dropped into the middle of the ocean.. annoyi...

Re: Friday's rant

A certain class of gentleman, let's say bolshy, entitled and possibly attend the church of Clarkson, specifically the ones who park their autos in the P&K. I've given up on confronting them as I'm genuinely afraid of what I'll do/say/set on fire (insert as applicable). More often than not met with ...

Re: Pro 14 2020-2021 season

Ulster allowing supporters back this weekend. A limited number, 600. They are taking applications from their version of the season-ticket/membership holders and balloting for 300 to get 2 tickets each (£20 each)
There'll be a total of 850 in the stadium.

Re: Friday's Rave

It wasn't on one of Ireland's famous links golf courses and it wasn't won by a Golf superstar like Jon Rahm last year in Lahinch. But American John Catlin won his second European Tour event in three weeks by finishing with three birdies in the last four holes for a 64 and a two-shot victory to win ...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Thought it was absolutely hilarious when one of the Saracens players gestured to Owens about time wasting after 78 mins... When they'd spent the previous 77 minutes doing everything they could to stop the game, stop momentum, waste time. Priceless.

Sweet!!!

You'd swear our house were lifelong Racing supporters when Imhoff went over....

Delighted I tempted the mocker god's by my earlier post about Russell :D

Pity that Russel is playing so poorly, Racing aren't winning this unless he magically transforms his performance.

How did Lewington blow that one??
Maybe he thought the officials spotted the offside that led to the chance....

This game is decent evidence favouring the “Saracens aren’t better than us” argument. Its ultra physical but not much else.
Good riddance to Saracens and their puke rugby next season.

There's my pound of sour grapes... :)

Racing may or may not be ahead of Saracens at half time in Paris. No one is sure.
Awful game. I'm sure our game last week was the same for anyone with no vested interest.
I thought he missed the kick at the end there until I saw the flags go up.

Jaysus that was a poor result. 14-29 FT
10 points for Ulster in the last minute apparently, including an intercept try.

. At this stage of his career, he's a very powerful guy but a mediocre rugby player with a limited engine. The idea that he is ready to go 50-60 minutes 15-20 times a season is waaaaay off.
He'll fit right in

Re: Pro 14 2020-2021 season

Can't imagine the people with the concessions in the RDS will be too happy, as they'll probably sell way less beer on a Monday as opposed to a Friday or Saturday night..... You think we might be back in the RDS before the new year? That would be great! Possibly bars wouldn't allowed to open anyway,...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Don't know if anyone noticed that in the HCC highlights on Virgin One on Monday evening Dave McKay (?) is doing the commentary and in the background there's someone doing an awful lot of coughing. It's particularly noticeable just before HT when Trin Duc scores a try. It's the Clermont v Racing gam...

I see James Haskell is laying into Lancaster in his new book re RWC2015, accusing him of treating the England players like children. I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
Hilarious from Haskell
I'd say he's one of the players who would HAVE to be treated like a child!

Re: A whiff of Cordite

There was a good discussion with Matt Williams (IMO) on OTB this week, maybe yesterday? He made the point about the Irish media running down the league at every possible opportunity - which then feeds into the public perception. The Pro14 has a different purpose to the English and French leagues.

Re: Glass is Full!

Great post OTT. I remember the seasons from 2002 to 2007 when everybody would have been ecstatic to win a league title. Now winning three in a row does not satisfy many fans unless we also win the HC. Expectations are a little unrealistic. That's a really good point! Victims of their own success eh?

Michael Rhodes cited for striking Henshaw in the head in the 2nd minute. https://twitter.com/Murray_Kinsella/status/1308085250170511364?s=20 Ah Jaysus, just when I was getting over the disappointment... Definite red. I wonder would the hypothetical crowd have spotted it and caused a ruckus? What do...
