Re: Age Grade Interpros
Leinster u20's finishing 10, 11, 12, 13 last night were all ex-club players: Joey Carberry(Athy), Robie Vallejo(New Ross), Fergal Cleary(Navan) and Conor O'Brien(Mullingar). Of course Cleary and Carberry both ended up heading to off to play schools rugby with Clongowes and Blackrock. The bolded sta...

Re: SOB to be cited?
Leave Nyanga alone, he did what you would expect any back-row to do, he pushed the laws and got away with apart from a bloody nose, pretty sure he would have felt it was worth it.

Re: Leinster Juniors 2011
They had their final trial last night against Greystones, won comfortably. They haven't lost a game since May 2007 and are unbeaten in 11. However those sides were backboned by Navan, Seapoint, CIll Dara, Tullamore and Boyne, the former 2 are gone senior, the middle two have regressed considerably s...

Re: Remax leinster League
No doubt we'll win it but i wonder who'll come second? :D Congrats to Clondalkin and Monkstown, took in the monkeys games yesterday and if they had a kicker they would have won by a lot more. Carlow fought hard but Monkstown were very organised had played well, Carlow took their opportunities but s...

Re: Remax leinster League
Congrats to Longford, enjoy your moment and I wouldn't even be thinking about next season yet, the most consistent team in a very inconsistent league. Worthy champions. I think the make up of the Leinster League next season with 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and Division 3 will only make the league stronger especi...

Re: Remax leinster League
I thought the Clondalkin v Clane game was a great advertisement for Division 2 both sides being fully committed and either side could have won it and in fact Clon had 2 difficult penalties deep into injury time to win it but both just went narrowily wide, one was a monster kick from their own 10 and...

Re: Remax leinster League
Don't mistake unflattering verbals for abuse, categorically I can state the ref wasn't abused. So please refrain from taking my observation completely out of context.

Re: Schools Rugby 2010/11 - SCT
Clongowes were too powerful for Bray and only poor Clongowes discipline kept Bray in it, the penalty count at h/t was 8-1. Conditions in the 1st half were awful, expect Clongowes to only improve from this, their 6 and 9 I thought stood out.

Re: Remax leinster League
I hear there was all sorts of controversy at the Cill Dara game and that there was a reaction to the ref by supporters at the end of the game. If they attacked the ref they could be in serious trouble with the Branch. This is all 2nd hand info though. Was anybody at the match that could give the fu...

Re: Lack of Youth publicity
Demographics
Far bigger interest in schools rugby than youths, the average attendance at SCT 1st round game would exceed a Culliton Cup final. The Hogan cup in GAA would be on a par with Leinster SCT and in fairness that competiton gets as much column inches.

Re: Remax leinster League
There was a competition ruling last year that stipulates that in a home and away league each team must have an opportunity to play at home. Thus early in the season a fixture can be reversed if they haven't played but if the have played already a fixture cannot be reversed later on. Thus in this cas...

Re: Remax leinster League
Can't see many games happening to be honest, the thaw might arrive but what shape will the pitches be left in?
The last thing a club needs is to be forced to play a game on a water logged pitch, it will effectively ruin the pitch for the rest of the year..

Re: How to cut costs......
Seriously, all joking aside, is there a benefit to be gained by the players staying in an hotel? It's about controlling the environment, their diet, their rest periods, media access etc Professional sport requires athletes to feel comfortable in hotels, when Ireland travel for the World Cup they wi...
