Re: Rumour Mill
Which bench is more comfortable. He could push for the starting shirt in Munster but with us he is the perfect guy for the 6-2 bench. I do think we are going to lose either him or Harry to someone this year.

Re: Leinster v Ulster RDS 1st January 2024 at 17:15
It would be pretty stupid of Ulster to underrate some of the guys in that team. I really hope they do. The under rating isn't coming from ulster its coming from us. They will definitely see this as us not rating them. To be blunt - who cares. That's a strong side packed with talent and a huge bench...

Re: RG Snyman to move to Leinster
I would have the same thoughts as others about his injury profile. However I have always wondered about what Munster, injuries and getting the best out of guys. I have a general impression of guys performing better and staying fit with us(not based on any facts and including some bias).

Re: RG Snyman to move to Leinster
There are a couple of things that strike me about this story Firstly, itisn't a done deal yet, and until it is I'll be keeping my ass firmly attached. Next, it should also be remembered that he has a troubling injury profile and in his three years at Munster has played very little rugby for them. c...

Frawley coming on reminded me of Sexton for Felipe.

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Am I mistaken or were there some initial talks between the UTC and the GP about a merger or possibly better named as a mashup. The GP is so damaged they may need something like that to save them.

Re: Outhalf death match (Sexton power vacuum)
Given that Crowley was in effect the incumbent I think he probably edges it for now but if Prendergast fills out a little he got the highest ceiling in my opinion. That's my thoughts, but filling out could take a year or two, there's no rush for him at all though. Absolutely. All going to plan for ...

Re: Leinster v Munster Aviva Sat 6.30
I have seen comments that this is not a great Munster team. Great might be pushing it but I do think they have improved and are on an upward move. However, I don't think they have the guys to be serious contenders without some luck. Lots of their game last night looked efficient, like their defence,...

I know it's a 6/2 split but it will be interesting if we have to make a change at 10. I would love to see Frawley have a few games there.

Re: Rumour Mill
When I first heard the news that day that Jäger wasn’t in the Crusaders squad, I, like most people, assumed he was coming to us. My initial reaction was disappointment to be honest. I was thinking, so we’re not going to get another THP to replace Ala’alatoa, this is it. So, when I heard he was head...

Re: RWC 2023 Ireland v NZ
A week ago, fraught with anxiety facing the prospect of playing Scotland, I did a deep dive into Ireland's games since July 2021, which I judged to be broadly the post-Covid era and particularly, the emergence of Andy Farrell's Ireland. This date also marked the commencement of the period for what ...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
So to sum up The RFU will have to allow an outside Union take ownership of a club in its area of responsibility The PRL will have to allow that club an exemption from its Foreign Player and English Qualified Player regulations The RFU will have to allow London Irish an exemption from its Academy pl...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Any chance the RFU are happily sitting on the sideline watching the league fall apart so they can take back full control. An England working of a model like us or new Zealand would be far more competitive.

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
There was a time I would have been suggesting that the IRFU or some other Irish entity step in to buy London Irish as a proper 5th team for all the talent that is being developed here but can't get game time. Now however I think the position of the whole league is so uncertain that it might not be w...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
I probably missed it somewhere but I am still waiting for a balanced report on our loss last weekend. We gambled with a weakened team and lost to a decent Munster team. However listening to some of the reporting you might think this was a big turning point for Munster. Does anyone think we wouldn't ...

Re: Jacques Nienaber to join Leinster Rugby
Leinster have made big calls like this in the past and got them right, generally with coaches on the way up not those already at the top. Fingers are crossed as I would have thought his SA approach would be at odds with ours.

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Aviva Stadium - Good Friday - 8pm
It's staff, catering, stewards, security, ticket sales, insurance, IRFU rental etc. They've also got a tour to South Africa coming and URC playoff games. As you say it would be great if we could get fans in the upper tier and create a bigger crowd but it's a big stretch for them and not entirely fa...
