Re: Leinster v Leicester - Aviva Stadium - Good Friday - 8pm

So with VDF out what does the back 5 of the pack look like? A) Ryan, Molony, Baird, Doris, Conan B) Ryan, Molony, Doris, Penny, Conan C) Ryan, Molony, Baird, Penny, Doris D) Ryan, Baird, Doris, Penny, Conan Very hard to know what to do, Jenkins also to throw into the mix in the second row of course....

Re: Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st

Saw some tweets saying the quarter will be Friday….

Pretty unfair if that’s the case

Speaking of spoofers…. Conceding 50 in a knockout Heineken cup game is something usually reserved for the scot teams

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Anyone else listen to Wednesday night rugby on Newstalk? Bizarrely short on build up to a champions cup weekend even mentioning there being zero buzz about the inter pro element despite then being corrected that it is a sell out. They’re giving huge amounts of air/podcast time to women’s six nation...

He has passed his return to play anyway. Whether he will be picked is another thing

Re: Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st

Thank goodness Ireland have finished so we can go back to focusing on Leinster again.

Only sexton is the injury concern out of today, but given how he walked around the pitch after he’ll be ok.

Give me a Heineken cup over this any day

Re: Play-offs to Aviva?

Attendance won't be close to a 50/50 split either. There'll be a far bigger Leinster crowd as there was in 2019 for the Ulster knockout game. Well, they made plenty of noise, I remember there were large swathes of Ulster supporters around us; continually standing up with the SUFTUM refrain. Worse t...

Re: Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st

Personally, I would rather play any team at home than the 2 Irish teams (particularly Munster). You’d rather play La Rochelle, Toulouse, Saracens, Leicester, Bulls, Stormers? One thing I will say is that Ulster will have a long time to prepare for this game. But they’ll be missing two leaders from ...

Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st

I believe it’s a mathematical certainty now we’ll be playing Ulster in the last 16. One leg rather than two unlike previous years. Personally, I would rather play any team at home than the 2 Irish teams (particularly Munster). If Ulster can rediscover form and we come out of the 6 nations with a few...

Back to the rugby….

According to Stuart Barnes if we’d beaten the top team in England away by less and Toulouse had run us closer we’d be considered a great team.

A big chunk of the conversation over on boards.ie at the moment is about whether or not Doris is a top class player. I would have him as the second best back row in the country behind VDF but apparently boards thinks otherwise

Re: Leicester V Leinster EPCR q/f 2022

Baird suffered an aggravation to his injury during the week. Not sure if McCarthy would have been picked anyway. Has Leo said this or are you assuming? Inside source, but as I said not sure if it influenced the decision to start McCarthy anyway as Ireland are looking to fast track him into the squad

Baird suffered an aggravation to his injury during the week. Not sure if McCarthy would have been picked anyway. Is TOB selected ahead of Larmour on form? Big call if so, would rather have Larmour coming on if we needed to chase the game. Scrummaging will decide this game, hopefully furlong is out t...

Re: Leicester V Leinster EPCR q/f 2022

Dan suffers the same problem that cronin does (to a much lesser extent). His offerings in open play against tired legs makes it too easy for coaches to leave him on the bench especially when Kelleher is so good in the tight with his defence.
