Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

No sign of Bent or Dev in the training photos, so I wouldn't be certain that it was a choice to pick Clarkson or not to pick Dev. One guy who was pictured at training, and who I would have expected to see involved, is Ryan Baird. Toner trained on Monday anyway. Baird's performance against Ulster A ...

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

Sounds like an idea from the Minutes of an IRFU Committee meeting of c. 2007-8 or an idea from the Munster Reps on the IRFU c.2021 as to how to derail the production rate of the Leinster Academy. Whichever, it's a cr@p idea and hopefully will be seen as such. Absolutely no integrity in the idea. One...

Re: Leinster A '20-21'

re-watching 2nd half.. the volume of missed tackles is incredible. +1 A number of our players have tackling techniques which may have worked when they were physically equal to, or stronger, than their opponents but don't work against stronger runners. Notable in that regard were SO'B, Soroka & Max ...

Re: Irish Depth Chart 2020-21

Yesterday we posted the first four rankings of the current Depth Chart. We now add ranks 5 - 8, with one amendment to the Rankings for 1-4 being the substitution in the fourth rank Loosehead of James Cronin for the previously included Eoin O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan now figures in the ranking below. Ire...

Re: Irish Depth Chart 2020-21

Should the 2021 6 Nations proceed, it is likely that the outlook, and thus selection choices, of the six Head Coaches will be split into two categories. In Category A reside Eddie Jones, Fabien Galthie and Gregor Townsend, each one certain to be their country's Head Coach for the 2023 World Cup and ...

Re: Rugby for sale?

Update about how rugby may be selling its future or ensuring its survival, depending on your perspective. https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2021/0116/1190221-i-would-be-worried-about-rugbys-soul-in-long-term/ I've little doubt this deal will be approved but I remain convinced it is detrimental for the ...

Re: Leinster A '20-21'

It seems like we are too eager to play this all out attack game at all age grades lately. Absolutely no structure to anything we did today........... There was no dog on that team out there and it mirrored the seniors performance v connacht a couple of weeks ago. I know it's only an A game but our ...

Yikes

Excellent by ulster.. much look much better athletically in the backs.

Way better skills.
+1
Sexton, McIlroy, Rankin, Balacombe, Stockdale et al......what are they feeding them on? Jamie Osborne looked the only Leinster back who was even the same species.

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

This is a very subjective topic but Leiinster have certainly added / developed a number of players in their Squad during the Season so far: Hugo Keenan and Jimmy O'Brien at full-back are both vastly improved; Cian Kelleher's improvement and Dave Kearney's return to form are both notably additions To...

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

Not often mentioned as a Leinster Exile, former Clontarf (and Munster) scrum-half James Hart turned place-kicker last night in Biarritz's away win at Vannes to confirm 3rd place in the Pro D2 in France. Biarritz were without former Munster flanker Dave O'Callaghan who was red-carded in their last ga...

Re: Stuart Lancaster joining Leinster

Neil Francis saying Lancaster is out of contract this season and Sale are a threat, none of which is exactly news but thought i'd update this thread anyway. With the ongoing Covid saga, you couldn’t blame him for wanting a return home. You’d imagine that he has been stuck in Ireland for much of the...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Questions, questions, questions. Why Warwick ahead of O'Sullivan, who's on the bench? Why Jones ahead of Timoney, who's on the bench? Why McIlroy ahead of Gilroy, and why Moxham on the bench? Why Cronin instead of Kelleher? Why Jack Conan on the bench instead of DL - or just giving him a reason not ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

What about:

RB - 10; JS - 12; RH - 13 with variations depending on where set-piece is.

Suspect that JO'B is least likely to start but covers back-three. Hawkshaw for cover rather than Turner if he's missing.

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport

The shocker for me was the fact, that faced with super aggressive Connacht D and linespeed, which were putting us under massive pressure, we just didn't batten down the hatches, weather the storm, play territory via kicks to touch and let the opposition blow themselves out. No instead we repeatedly...

Well spotted on the double entry of Dillane. Baird is one of the missing names on the lists.

I'll be updating after the weekend, which was always the intention, and will pay due attention to all comments as well as what has been evident since 3rd December.

Casey and Healy were the best half backs on display today (admittedly a low bar, but still)
Bet to differ. Cooney & Burns for first-half were definitely superior.
