Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

Anyway getting this thread back on point. 😇😇👼👼🤣🤣 BBC News - Wasps: Three more positive Covid-19 tests puts Premiership final appearance in doubt https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/54598315 So that's 7 players and 4 staff confirmed with Covid Wasps look unlikely to play on Saturday. Really Hope we get to see Dan Sheehan Friday. Potentially better than RK?
Pretty unlikely.
It's less unlikely that we'll see him on Friday than it is that he'll be better than RK.

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

Well done to Exeter and Bristol. Two Premiership teams winning European Cup Finals is an excellent achievement. However, watching both games with a dispassionate outlook I was surprised at the manner in which the two English teams out-thought and out-played their possibly more talented opponents in ...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

Well done to Pat Lam and his Premiership Bears. Astute coaching and targeting of specific Toulon weaknesses resulted in a convincing 19-32 victory, despite having two tries, legitimately, disallowed. Very good performance from Joe Joyce in 2R for Bears and Adeolucken picked up another medal for his ...

Re: Corona Virus

'Herd immunity' in a pandemic is a theoretical concept cited in the aftermath of an outbreak as to why incidence of disease has fallen to near zero. According to WHO, there is no recorded incidence of 'herd immunity' being implemented, in history, in a community wide infectious outbreak of disease, ...

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

This may well be the perfect opportunity to get Dan Leavy back in harness, possibly for a 20 minute closing piece. Not under the radar so much as playing a Zebre team without their Italian internationals. Who knows but it would be great to see him.

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

That's great research to pull out those extracts. I've always considered the Chiefs owners and rugby management to be top line. Their players have generally been among the best coached and closest to their potential at the business end of the Season. It's very understandable why the excerpts listed ...

More information yesterday and today but all of it generating new questions which demand answers and the shorthand utilised by news reporters doesn't facilitate understanding. Our testing positive % has almost doubled in a week to 6%. What proportion of +ive tests are coming from GP referrals and w...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens

One-way traffic in Sandy Park with Chiefs 35-6 and 5 tries against Bath. They're a class above Bath but seriously unimpressed by the Ref who, the BT cheerleaders in their commentary team believe, should be canonised. Personally, I'd settle for Luke Pearce having to wear a mask and apply the Laws as ...

Re: Corona Virus

Is there a need for a fundamental review of the national response to Covid-19? We are now approaching the rate of infection seen in late April but our hospital admissions are very much lower than during that April period. Secondly, the apparent recovery by Trump from his infection has been accomplis...

Surprised that Ed Byrne named ahead of Jack McG and Eric O'S or even Denis Buckley. Baird is an optimistic selection ahead of Toner & Dillane. O'Mahony & Murray fortunate to be included.

Make up of centres & back three will make for interesting training.

Seriously impressed by the leadership shown by the GAA President and his colleagues this week. Very clearly they have their finger on the pulse of the nation and their rapid decision to call off all club games sends a very direct message as to the personal responsibility carried by every individual ...

Certainly consider that with due experience of top-level games, Dooley will inherit Healy's jersey and although he is unlikely to be as outstanding a performer for as long as Healy, he can certainly be a very competent European and international representative. Milne is at least 3-5 scrumagging year...

Re: Tony is up for a Scrap.

Really am surprised at the reaction to NPHET's Sunday letter. Did nobody see the number of new Positive cases on Friday and Saturday, both here and in the North. Also the proportion of over 60's on the island testing positive had to ring the alarm bells. Assuming that we're still testing c.13,000 pe...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Although the title line of this thread would not have been his style, I wonder has anybody got any news as to whether Peter O'Reilly is still with the Sunday Times? Although today's mediocre, cut-price size, Sports Supplement contains reports on two Irish Provincial games, there's no sign of O'Reill...

He's deceptively powerful is Keenan. Sort of has this gliding run, but he hits a line very hard. Hugo has many skills and strengths but I believe his biggest asset is his ability to appreciate what and where is team-mates are doing. Whether it's putting somebody through a gap or running a support l...
