Re: 2023/24 URC Fixtures
Round 15 of the URÇ (Next weekend) presents eight fixtures in which a case could be made for a majority of Away Wins, if not a clean sweep for visitors. Given the current rankings, it is certain to present a significantly altered Table by Sunday afternoon. Ulster v Benetton : very few will consider ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
The Lions results throughout the Season are a good study. Close losses, rarely murdered and occasional big wins. Well coached with a few potential superstars and front-row subs to die for. Watch these guys, they could be the coming force. Results to date Stormers (H) Lost : 33-35 Edinburgh (A) lost ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
It is of course possible that our Management, and many of our supporters, forgot that Connacht conceded 38 points to the Lions in the Showgrounds on 23rd March. Some felt that this was an abysmal display by Connacht but others remarked on how sharp the Lions' attack was and attributed as much credit...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
Northampton's second-half display against derby rivals Tigers is a good warning that Croke Park encounter will be a battle royal, not a coronation. Toulouse's defeat, and team selection, is a clear demonstration that competition in other Leagues is not a cakewalk either.

And the Lions fall back down to 11th after scoring a bonus point win against Leinster. This is an interesting run-in.

The smallest consolation is h-t Leicester 10 - Saints 6.

It's not gone yet if our pack, especially backrow, can get to some of the tackle breakdowns. Ball is much too slow to use when we get possession. We can control possession on our ball, we can pressure their line-out.

Re: Ulster 2023/24
Think he just about got the Carre knock on right but poor that he refused to look at Cooney's knock on just before the Ulster try. He couldn't. You can't go back more than two phases unless it's foul play. A knock-on isn't foul play so it wasn't reviewable. A 'purpose' knock-on is Foul Play.

Re: The quickening 2024
Glasgow beat Sharks 21-10. Fail to pick up a bonus point. Still one point behind us having played a game more. yep. not sure if a BP would have made much difference but for us it's great. A munster win tomorrow would be amazing but I think the best we can hope for is a Lions win + LBP against storm...

Re: Rumour Mill
It would not be smart for Boyle (or his agent) to join Munster now - regardless of the uplift offered - unless it comes accompanied by indication that Faz is going to include him in Squad for SA. A LHP is totally dependant for performance on the quality of second-rows behind him. Next season, Leinst...

They were great. Down to Kiley’s after the match for pints with the team as they all tried to avoid Matt Williams in case he was going the give them a dressing down for a bad performance!! That said, we’re box office now which is incredible. I can’t believe we sold 82k tickets in 2 days. I will be ...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
The Irish Time rugby podcast "The Counter Ruck" poses the question is the central contract system broken? Question, who won back to back 6 Nations? To me the short answer is, that it's working. What is broken is other provinces development of players, and I would posit that Munster aren't...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May
I am gobsmacked at the speed of sell-out, but not totally surprised it has happened. Since RWC23, I've been telling people of the extraordinary diversity of people I met in Bordeaux, Nantes and Paris at Irish matches and how many of them had never been able to get match tickets in Ireland. Many of t...

Looks very light to only travel with 5 props, when one of them is Jager who is just a few weeks post knee surgery. The decision to release Keynan Knox mid-year looks increasingly baffling, and the only conclusion on Academy THP Darragh McSweeney must be that they don't rate him at all. Knox require...

Belated recognition for both Dan and JGP, but better late than never. One of the most important element of Leinster's overall development has been their employment of Community Development Officers. For over a decade we have had dedicated and experienced people employed in these roles supporting Clu...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
The string of Leinster 'good new' stories continue.
I almost wonder if they'll announce on Friday that we're going to sign a nephew of Ollie le Roux, who plays tight-head and is Irish qualified.
Just pure imagination.........but after the last 5 days, who knows?

The bookies have this as 1 to 2 points in favour of Lions. Don't know how they can quote any price without knowing the squad. That very point came up on last weekend's game when the Bookies Spread only changed by one point when the LAR team was announced without Dulin. It raised the question as to ...
