Re: Pro 14 - General Thread

So far this season, the record of Irish teams is won 16 lost 1. There is a fundamental problem with this league. Every now and then one Welsh or Scottish side has a good year or two before dropping back into their usual mediocrity. The rugby public in those countries is indifferent and doesn't deman...

Re: Ospreys away, Sunday, Nov 8th 3pm

Ruddock really is such an incredible go-to option for the coaches. Regardless of the match, whether its a knock-out Heineken match or a scrappy error fest like today, he is always there to make the hard yards, the dominant tackle or the crucial turnover. Absolute legend

Re: 8 Nations 2020

Farrell must be one of the few remaining Murray fans, selecting him ahead of Cooney and even Luke is a puzzling call. JGP a merited pick.

I'm glad to see Carty back. Stockdale is steeped.

Worried about Furlong now. Delighted for Ed

TV viewing of quarter final

The match tomorrow is on BT3. 2 questions: how do you get BT3 and can you just pay for this match alone?

Feel free not to mention any alternative less than legal means of watching as that would be immoral and wrong.

Thanks

Re: Pro 14 final vs Ulster, Sept 12th. Live on TG4 & EirSport

Porter was absolutely fantastic tonight. Incredible strength and stamina and some great reads, not least for that huge penalty turnover.

Wtf was going on in the lineout in the First half???

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

great experience for Baird. Imagine the praise heaped upon him by Toland if he were in red. Doris is definitely more effective at 8 though he did have a better 2nd half. VDF was his usual quietly brilliant self. Casey looks like a super 9 and he will give Murray a run for his money. Stander is by fa...

what was Joe thinking of bringing that cart horse Kleyn to the World Cup? Toner, Dillane even Holland are far more effective

McGrath played very well. Lowe needs to sharpen up his defence. That last try was dreadful

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

Ringrose MOTM by a mile, not that it particularly matters. Ref got those Leinster breakdown pens mainly right but he totally ignored multiple Munster side entries and off their feet offences. The sooner Toland is canned the better. All that bs about POM's "world class" catches of their own ball was ...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

The lineout is doing my head in. Feel like I’m on a one man crusade with this but Snyman and POM both jumped across the lineout. It’s a penalty and it’s obvious, absolutely ridiculous that none of the officials have picked it up and neither have the pundits. Kelleher has had some poor throws too th...

Re: BOD memories

I have my misgivings about Wood as a pundit but he was an outstanding player. He played a crucial role in the winning Lions tour of 1997 and he carried that poor Ireland side on his back during the late 90s. Despite his pedigree as son of an Ireland and Lions prop, he was never fully respected by so...

BOD memories

https://www.lionsrugby.com/2020/04/18/opinion-how-brian-odriscoll-made-me-fall-in-love-with-rugby/ Nice piece on that try for Lions in Australia and on the Great Man. Its hard to believe that its almost 6 years since he retired. I still half expect to see him in the 13 jersey at kick off. Watching t...

Re: 6 Nations 2020

Eddie Jones must be sanctioned for his disgraceful statement disputing Tuilagi's merited red card and saying that it was 13 v 16 at the end. Rugby should not tolerate Mourinhoesque ref baiting
