Re: Leinster v Northampton 19/12 1PM

No HB, no JOB and looks like no Ringrose. Now a try for Northampton. Yeah this has the feeling of a banana skin alright

Re: Ireland V Scotland Saturday 5th Dec 14.15

That was a fair bit better than I expected. All of our recent failings were back in the opening half and then we seemed to flick a switch and improve significantly. Our scrum solidified, lineout was better and rucks got faster. It helped that the referee actually applied some semblance of the laws t...

Re: England v Ireland 21 November 15:00

What - if anything - do the stats on territory and possession mean? Were England letting us have it for some reason or are we just really good in the middle third and really bad in the final third?

Re: England v Ireland 21 November 15:00

Seems like things like rolling away, releasing the tackler and supporting your own weight are optional today Along with staying onside but I'm fed up mentioning that one. Came here to make these exact points. There was a ridiculous penalty given against Keenan early on. Launchbury tackled him and j...

Friday's Rave

Anyone got any underrated movies to recommend? Here’s a few of mine - Leap of Faith; Steve Martin as a faith healing charlatan being pursued by sheriff Liam Neeson. Also a genuine miracle seems to occur and freaks him out. When’s it gonna rain? When’s it gonna *stop*? - The Witch; Far more recent. T...

Re: England v Ireland 21 November 15:00

I’m glad they’ve retained Keenan. He’s been a bit better than Stockdale at 15 and Stockdale covers the whole back three (as Keenan would). Roux was really good last week and is our best chance to counter England’s power in the scrum. I suspect Leinster’s bad showing in the scrum v. Saracens helped h...

Re: MNR: Edinburgh in the RDS, 16/11, 8.15pm

I think we're seeing that Leinster are far better than other clubs at coping without their internationals. We lost around 17 players to Ireland and I don't think any other clubs was so severely impacted, so I'm delighted we're still posting big wins. Away on the plastic pitch to a strengthened Glasg...

It looked for a long time like Italy were going to get a win. Pity for them but the Scots showed good character to come back

Re: Ireland v. Wales, Fri 13 Nov, 19.00

Just on the new breakdown interpetation, it really encourages teams to take 3 points instead of going to the corner. Its so
advantageous to the defending team, like we saw with the soft pen for France just before HT

Re: Ireland v. Wales, Fri 13 Nov, 19.00

Those two schemozzles at the start were both started by cheap shots from Wales. Annoying they werent picked up Anyway, lots to be happy about. Ive always thought Roux & Ryan would be a good lock partnership. Ryan is at his best when he’s at loosehead lock, imo Keenan, Lowe & Conway look like a reall...

Re: Ireland v. Wales, Fri 13 Nov, 19.00

As mentioned above, emigration has had a huge impact on the country and so we've always had a number of foreign-born players from the diaspora on the team. Well immigration has now also had a big impact on our society, with well over half a million foreign-born people living in Ireland. Some are cit...

Despite him not getting much ball, I thought Kelleher was again impressive last night. Tackled like a demon, his acceleration off the mark means he constantly takes contact going forward and he marshalled Matawalu well.
Yeah, he often reminds me of Felix Jones the way he accelerates into contact.

Havent seen it yet but that’s an exceptionally good result against such a strong side. Cats back for everyone.
