Re: A whiff of Cordite

You have to love this.
Sexton, asked by some hack about POM:
“You love talking about the Munster lads.”

Re: Rob and Ferg

I had my fears.

To be fair to Ferg, if he’s been in Dublin since March, he was probably gagging for a pint.

Go well, sweet prince.

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

Around this time 12 years ago the word on the street was that Gordon D'Arcy would never play again, so let's hope this is like that. You don't even need to go back that far. I was reliably assured by two third-hand sources that Sexton was advised to give up the game that first season in Racing, and...

Re: Rob and Ferg

11 players! I really hope Ferg was not one of them.
He's such a good guy, so you would think not...but he is a craic merchant.

Very late in the day for call ups, but I did wonder why Rob wasn't there. Presumably he was asked?

Re: 2nd Row going forward

Does he have what it takes mentally, attitude (aggression), skills to become an international? I hope he has all those attributes and we don't have to lose him for large parts of the season. Having a grunt tighthead lock fit and available will always be valuable. Damian Browne was a very important ...

Not long towards the pensions for Larmour and Keenan alright!
not sure what that has to do with it.. leinster have other backs if those aren't available, they are just younger again.
It's already young. But, indeed, at some point over the next few weeks, it will be very young.

Re: Benetton v. Leinster, Sat 10 Oct, 1715hrs

Will any of the Irish squad players be allowed to travel for this? I wonder.

If we don't have Lowe, Larmour and Keenan, I'm not sure what kind of backline we can field.

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

If Keenan, Lowe and Larmour are in the Ireland squad, which is not a huge leap, we would have only one fit back three specialist on a senior contract. Two if you want to count TOB. That's pretty wild. Interesting article on Keenan that alludes to this. https://www.the42.ie/keenan-leinster-back-three...

Re: Leinster V NG Dragons RDS Fri 2nd Oct 20:15

I honestly think that side is at just as good as the side that played Saracens, and better in certain areas. I also believe it is a side that would have been better equipped to beat Saracens. The Keenan-Larmour switch should have happened before now. JGP is the form scrum half. Fardy would have giv...

Oldschool is onto something.
Have you checked for 5G masts that went up during the quarter final?

Re: Stash Watch 2020/21

Does blue After Shock still exist?
This jersey appears to be trying to channel the old Leinster tradition (outside Bective and Wesley) of blue After Shock puke.

But, hey, at least it's 'sustainable'.

Re: Leinster Scrum Coach

This would appear to be a very interesting article on how we are diverging from the IRFU on scrummaging. Fanning is often on the money.
I don’t have a login though.

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

I wonder is Keenan at 15 and Larmour at 14 a better mix? Hugo was really solid again yesterday btw. One of the breakout stars this season. Well it can't be worse! Larmour at full back is over. We need to find a full back. And in the interim we need to find out if a certain someone fancies one more ...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Was Itoje onside for the intercept? Thought he was offside but I was always going to! Didn’t see a good replay, Luke likes to paw the ball for an age before he passes so maybe he was on. Anyone know for sure? Huge moment. I thought McGrath had the ball in his hands and fumbled before passing, so It...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Yep - all other points down to supremacy in the scrum. Not true. The first two converted penalties were stupid ruck penalties, and maybe even the third. There wasn’t even a scrum in the first quarter I think. The scrum was terrible. Embarrassing. The front row seemed to just lie down and accept it....

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

For me, two mistakes cost us that game:
- a mistake by the coaches in selecting McGrath; and
- a mistake by the captain to turn down a very kickable penalty at 15-3, which was turned around into Sarries’ try.

Horrible feeling losing to a weakened Saracens side. Horrible.
