They didn’t need to be. We were a veritable Trocaire box of charity.Observingprop123 wrote: ↑April 20th, 2024, 3:55 pm Lions weren't even good that game. A few lads need a kick up the arse after that.

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
Don't know how they can quote any price without knowing the squad. They always quote prices before teams are announced and then change them once they are. They probably have a fair guess at the likekly squad and they also use previous years results in calculations. I’d say they don’t have a rashers...

Barron looks knackered. Was it he had altitude sickness last year?

We are terrible. Credit to Lions for capitalising but it’s all self inflicted.
That pass was never on.

Re: A whiff of Cordite
ROGs appearance on OTB am this morning. Oh no, do we want to know what he was saying? :? Who cares? He’s totally irrelevant to European and Irish rugby for the rest of this season. He got humiliated last week, partly by indulging his own ego and believing his own hype. The Irish media got hu...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
When you look at the bench 16-21, there is not much of a drop-off and in fact a serious impact in many cases. Hopefully nobody is too badly affected by altitude. On another note, for the statos, when was Healy's last start, and how many has he had this season? I would really love it if he got a cha...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
I had forgotten that. Lions's stadium is a good bit higher than Bulls's I think? A quick Google suggest Ellis Park where the Lions play is 1800m above sea level. Loftus is a "mere" 1350m I've been to Loftus (only for a tourist visit) and to Jo'burg (but not Ellis Park). I've also been aff...

Sorry disagree with the views on selection McKee is only back from a long term injury and in the same manner as Milne is being brought back slowly, I don’t disagree that Barron following his poor showing in SA last season has seriously upped his game this season and is a great headache to have 4 st...

Re: Rumour Mill
theres been rumours about every leinster loosehead outside of Porter. There’ve even been rumours about him: moving back to tighthead. We can’t keep them all. We have the Irish 1-2, a player well along the path to development who looks like he’s about to break through, a seasoned pro with internatio...

Murray Kinsella has a bit of a Quickening of his own - albeit only focused on the provinces. He does include the following interesting line - not unexpected I suppose. https://the42.ie/6357093 They have yet to officially confirm the squad they’ve brought to South Africa, but some front-liners have ...

Re: Investec Player of The Year 2024
Someone wants to give us a big bag of cash in return for naming a trophy after them. How very dare they. No problem with that. I don't see why this award has suddenly been renamed though. I doubt there's a big bag of cash for this award and the sponsors have no role in deciding it. I checked and al...

Re: Investec Player of The Year 2024
God I hate this ever creeping commercialism. Unless I am mistaken this award has never before been named after the sponsor. It was the European player of the year or the EPCR player of the year. Why is it necessary to ram the sponsor down our throats? EDIT - Mods can we change the title to European...

The Grand Final is June 22. Ireland play in Pretoria on July 6th. URC knockout attendances are terrible anyway. Having to travel wouldn't be that big a deal. Going all out to have easier URC knockouts didn't do a lot for us in recent years. We don't need to sweat it. Fair enough if you think that p...
