Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

The reality here is that Leinster have an abundance of back row talent and you can be sure that that will be spread across the provinces come the summer. Players may not ask for it, they may not even want it, but it will happen. The argument about how attritional 7 is works both for and against us. ...

And a great curse as well
Thought we were lucky to not give away a couple of penalties at scrum time at the beginning but we improved a lot after that.

Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

Leavy has looked ok alright, a few decent carries. I don’t know why but I get a pain in my knee whenever I see him on the ball.

Penny also had a great last 10 mins. Shame he’ll be playing for Munster his time next year [emoji20]

Tommy O’Brien has definitely been cutting his own hair during this pandemic. Shocking stuff.

McGrath backing himself a lot here. Quite like it actually, has done reasonably well with his carries.

Poor enough start. Scrum has been minced twice now but we’ve gotten away with it.

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

What are you, a retired censor? This whole forum is driven by rumoje, speculation, subjective opinion and debate. We may as well shut the whole thing down if your logic applies. A national journalist with his ear to the ground believes that the tide has gone out for Leavy and that he and Leinster a...

Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

This is all pure nonsense. What would this journalist even write? Have we ever had an article like it? A man has suffered a pretty catastrophic injury from an elite sporting perspective. Of course there’s a chance the recovery won’t work out. We don’t need some journalist who, realistically knows no...

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

Strange to see Leavy at 23. Have a weird feeling he might not get off the bench. I think I would have preferred to see a back 3 option at 23. I think Aaron O’Sullivan and Silvester are off playing 7s which is not great in itself as they’re both third year academy players without a single involvement...

Re: Jonathan Sexton - Leinster Legend & Captain

It’s great to be considered for this award but, as good as Sexton has been for both us and Ireland, he does not deserve to win this award ahead of many of the nominees on that list. The achievements of New Zealand in this decade in particular; two World Cups, 18 game winning streak and an 88% win ra...

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

Would it be better to play this game in Donnybrook? Is there any financial benefit to Leinster Rugby in doing so? This keeps coming up. I believe the stance is that we are contracted into playing a number of games at the RDS each season. There may be other factors at play too such as better facilit...

Re: Zebre at home, 23 Oct. 19:35

I think we’ll use Frawley as a 10 in this block of games if Conor O’Brien is available. A 12/13 of O’Brien and O’Loughlin would be pretty decent with Frawley and H. Byrne taking the 10/22 roles. Hawkshaw has also mostly been used as a centre in the A games so maybe he would be used in there at some ...

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

We have some tricky games in this period too — Glasgow (a), Edinburgh (h) and Scarlets (a) in particular, but Zebre the only game that you’d be shocked if we lost in that bunch. We’ll be sending some pretty inexperienced front rows out for those games at least and are likely to be light in the back ...

Re: Benetton v. Leinster, Sat 10 Oct, 1715hrs

Anyone have any stats on our offload numbers? I see ESPN aren't doing stats for Pro14 any more. Ultimate Rugby has us down for 8 offloads total, two from Keenan, and one for Doris, Henshaw, JGP, Ryan, Baird and Connors. No idea where they get their stats from however. For comparison, we had 12 offl...

Lowe’s 33rd try for Leinster. Any chance he could become our record try scorer? Probably not with his likely involvements with Ireland from this year on.

Lovely stuff there from JGP. Basically created that try with a fairly dodgy maul involvement!
Hah yeah, JGP definitely joined ahead of the ball but no one seemed to notice so all good
