Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Sparrow rumoured to be out for the 6 nations with his injury. Thanks to the referee delaying the decision to give him the penalty. It’s the referee’s fault. We need to cut that out of the game when a player clearly has poach and the referee is staring at the ruck for ages not awarding the penalty. ...

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Thought Hempenstall did OK - one miscued cross-kick which wasted an overlap. Don’t remember him taking it to the line much though. Don’t know whether O’Shaughnessy would have been better - but we could have done with more leadership/direction at times.

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Thought Leinster were much better team in first half - strong carries by forwards and pacey back three, but only scored one pushover try. Lack of patience and players trying to do too much individually. Munster got a nicely worked try just before halftime which gave them a big lift and it was 7 all....

Re: Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st
Our kicking game won that match for us - Lowe’s long clearances to Lowry who was unsure how to respond, Ross either finding grass or allowing us contest for cross-field kicks, and some quality box kicks from JGP. In that weather territory is key and we could wear them down with our carriers. Line ou...

Is the Gonzaga out half in the Leinster/Irish underage system? Haven’t noticed his name but he was outstanding in the final, looked a real talent

Prendergast could be a superstar - kicking from hand and ground, passing and running game all look exceptional. Decision-making and temperament seem great - only potential weakness is tackling. Expect to see him play for Leinster regularly next year.

Agreed. What a legend - 100th Euro cap, coming on as a tighthead for us having played LH for almost his entire career, getting the job done again.Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑January 14th, 2023, 7:46 pm How well did Cian Healy play today? Thought he was magnificent in scrum, maul and around the field. Looked like a top class THP

Delighted to see Jack Conan shine as match went on - hopefully give him confidence to find his best form again. Disappointed with Cormac Foley tonite- thought he might be good option for us but speed of delivery a real problem and could see the difference once McCarthy came on. Osbourne really good ...

Re: Munster v Leinster St Stephen's Day 19.35 TG4
Great, gutsy win, away from home in what was a cup final for them. Big shift from the pack and Ross Byrne is so good in a match like that. Experience of Molony and McGrath off bench crucial. Worry though that we’re relying on Porter and Sheehan playing 80 mins - and not bringing on two of our back s...

Usually enjoy Leinster thrashing an English team, but found that curiously unsatisfying - relied on rolling maul for most tries and few really good back line moves. At least we seemed to avoid injuries and Sexton and Larmour got some game time. English clubs have managed to mess up a great competiti...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 3rd December 19.35 TG4
Also felt red card was harsh - Stewart seemed to lead with his head dipping down - and he came round the corner giving Healy little time to react. Yellow would have been fairer in my opinion. We made far too many errors in first half, giving them easy access to our 22. Once we tightened that up our ...

Re: Away to Scarlets, October 28th
Lots to be pleased about with that performance. Experienced heads like like McGrath, Ruddock, Byrne and Moloney all stood out, while younger guys took their chance. Cosgrave and Russell did really well, and McKee had a great game. Ref was far too keen on the whistle - but affected both sides equally...

Re: Connacht v Leinster Sportsground Fri 14th Oct 7.35 RTE/Premier Sports
Our defence was outstanding last night - great linespeed and winning collisions - and very aggressive at the rucks too. Only thing that kept Connaught in the game was penalties which gave them territory, their line out defence (Murray is able to get up and contest well) and too many errors (includin...

I acknowledge that I wear blue tinted glasses but I really don’t understand this narrative that Munster was the better team and Leinster picked their pocket at the end. Particularly when the same narrative effuses about the amazing Munster goal line defense and two critical, try saving turnovers. T...
