Re: Corona Virus

I was in the Mater 3times the week before last(fine thanks) and they were all wearing masks/PPE etc. The reason it spreads quickly in hospitals is because it's where they take people with the disease and some of the equipment they use spreads the virus like a mf to the point that the benefit of PPE ...

if he had shoulder surgery he'd be in a sling right? or not necessarily?

either way he doesn't look like someone who just had shoulder surgery in the two recent photos of him I saw.
Wouldn't need a sling after a couple of hours if even.

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

I think it just highlights how difficult it is to win a HC. On paper Leinster should have at least 2 more wins under their belt, but sport isn’t won on paper. For Munster to win a league they will most likely have to beat Leinster in a knockout game, which is possible, but even with the current cro...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

They probably could if they wanted to. But the lease obligations plus the 400k for the Aviva make it unprofitable. I suppose we never needed to as well. Solid off the pitch and successful on it. . What are the lease obligations? Another poster stated that Leinster would merely have to move a school...

That leaves them well positioned to absorb the revenue loss from the CVC rights sale.

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

Music to my ears but troubling signs for our Munster brethren, was it a quote from O' Gara maybe? Cork City has money and Munster are really going have to win over the merchant families and skilled professionals of Cork. Its well documented here the financial mismanagement of Munster Rugby, the IRF...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

Munster count season ticket holders in their attendance figures even if they dont turn up. So in essence they've already bagged most of that money. They will lose out on pints and hangsangwich sales though. You can't count revenue until you've met the contract obligations. Even if they hold the ST ...

Re: Corona Virus

120m per month for 4k hospital beds and staff isn't a lot of money. Even if it's just an insurance policy. But yes I think this is a reflexive reaction on your part. Feel free to engage your brain and think about it. It takes more than 120m a month to run those hospitals and Larry Goodman is not lau...

Slaintecare Report. 51 pages of political aspirations. In other words how to waste the taxpayer's money. How about sorting out the ongoing waste first. Example - We spending a fortune to the private hospitals at the moment. What are we getting for that money. We were told that the public hospitals ...

I don't think he would be, I think he's a competent scrum half and an excellent goal kicker, no more, no less. He had his chance at Leinster and it didn't go his way for a variety of reasons (not all of his own creation it must be said), the same at Connacht - but he has done very well, mainly due ...

Re: Beaumont vs Pichot

I think the PIs is probably a dead end in terms of growth. Might seem harsh but waht's the eventual goal? They don't reall have the market to support a full team and the best players will likely take the big day in Europe even moreso than the rest of the SH players. Maybe a slightly left field idea ...

Fergal Bowers @FergalBowers · 8m French rugby authorities and club presidents have reached an agreement to cancel the current domestic season due to the coronavirus pandemic and concentrate on ensuring the 2020-2021 campaign starts in September. No idea where to put this but doesn't bode well for t...

Re: The leinster dream thread (100th edition)

My listing is slightly longer and drawn from notes of a discussion for an article drafted (but unpublished) in 1989 for an Irish Rugby Magazine. These were the names that five players / coaches, who had experience at that point across 40 years, of Leinster Rugby came up with: 15. George Norton, Ton...
