Re: Wing going forward

i'd be surprised if AB played for Leinster again at this stage.. could be way off with that call but the signs aren't great. Think TOB could be an intl on the wing given skillset and his size suits that position best IMO. Of the academy players, O'Sullivan has great size/speed for the position but ...

Yep, in fact the career of Irish rugby's greatest ever player is just one example that disproves that particular theory Munster #1.
Yep and John Hayes a cap centurion only started playing rugby when he was 18.

Competition has officially been suspended
This is really serious for Leinster and there's no reason to suggest the 6 Nations will not go the same way. Financially rugby in this country is very much on a knife edge.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

I have been asking a few friends who are Ulster rugby fans as to why they aren't producing academy players like Leinster (traditionally Leinster and Ulster always have had comparable player numbers). Their answers mainly point to how most don't play after school (like Leinster). What I found differ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri 8th January 2021 19:35 EirSport

Well Done on the victory. It doesn’t guarantee that you will top the table, but it fair to say that Leinster would want to completely implode for them not to. You would have to wonder about coaching when you see that none of the Leinster hookers can hit their man consistently. When Cronin is your b...

McFarland has a nasty side. Good coach that's it. Many good coaches do. Bit of nasty bit of ruthless, qualities that many players possess. I think McFarland is doing a good job up there but I wouldn't cross him, Regardless of what the journalist tried to emphasise, the reality is that Ulster have h...

Today's Irish Times. Maybe he should focus on fixing his own broken academy rather than suggesting our success is down to having private schools? We had the same schools in 2000's when we won nothing, the difference is the system and the academy. Not sure what the fees this year are at Campbell Coll...

Very exciting looking team, we are going to play with some pace! Feel sorry for Frawley, very unlucky not to be in the frame.

Donal ("tremenjgeus") Lenehan wants EPCR to sanction teams who field weakened teams in European fixtures. See below: https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2020/1216/1184834-lenihan-wants-champions-cup-sanctions-against-clubs/ I wonder should EPCR impose the sanction on Leinster before or after the match? ...

I'm not sure that anybody is running down Ross for things he is not responsible for. Some people, including yourself, aren't massive fans but recognise what he brings to the team - Some people, including myself, are fans of his - and recognise what he brings to the team. Harry is in better form at the moment, no harm in rewarding that. Not saying I'd start him if Johnny is fit, but if he isn't, then Harry should be next cab off the rank The BT Sports guys were raving about Ross Byrne, I have to say I didn't see it. In the period up to the cross field kick for Dave'...

DK scores his 46th try for Leinster.
Puts him only 1 behind God.
God. God. God.
Remarkable record, our rugby lads whatsapp has a Dave Kearney time of try scoring prediction league. If we was a kid coming through he'd be a shoe in for the Ireland squad.

I think probably the only truly happy team out of that draw would be England. A tough group yes, but if they get out of it they'd be confident to beat Australia or Wales.
I'd taker our group over that one. I really can't face another humiliation at the hands of Argentina.

No Reinach or Ouderago for them. The usual enormous pack though. I'd expect we want to keep huge tempo up, and with three playmakers in the backline that might just be possible. Yeah but you have to secure the platform first. Scrum time will be interesting, these guys are massive. I'd have faith in...

Right, I guess I wasn’t clear — I meant in the match day 23. Would be nice to see Harry Byrne and Penny get selected to step up to the next level. Ah, gotcha. I don't think it'll happen. Penny is behind three(!) Irish internationals - indeed it wouldn't be massively surprising if neither of the pla...
