Re: 8 Nations 2020

Interesting to see JGP in there tough on Cooney who has been the form Irish scrum half over the course of the season albeit with a bit of a drop in form after lockdown. JGP adds clear pace of distribution, probably the best of the Irish SH's in that area. Is Lowe qualified or is that November? On an...

Re: Pro 14 2020-2021 season

For the same reason I imagine Guinness have been involved in this realignment from the get go - Africa is their largest market world wide. Guinness isn't popular at all in SA though, and I'm not too sure the good people of Lagos or Yaounde will care too much about a Connacht v Bulls live from a win...

It's the same when you buy a subscription, even when you're logged in your are sent to the pay that tells you to subscribe to the service you already have. You need to get to the menu which is not placed in a very user friendly way. Easiest way is to run it through a PS4 if you have one.

Re: Leinster V NG Dragons RDS Fri 2nd Oct 20:15

There'll be absolutely eff all in the kitty for any overseas signings lads, jeez. Exactly, The players and staff have been taking very significant pay cuts and deferrals. Our income has been hammered obviously, we can't bring in outside talent. If we did imagine how that would go down with players ...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

Very brave selection. we are obviously looking to run them around the park on a warm day. very quick and mobile. Even the bench says that with Baird over Fardy. I like that. last year we tried to match them for muscle so we played to their strengths this year we play the Leinster way.

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

is this saturdays game a era-defining one for this current leinster side and coaching setup? Not really, it will be if we win the tournament. In many ways, if we win, what comes next is a tougher challenge. ASM or Racing on paper is probably a tougher game. I think if we lose this season will be lo...

Why keep dreaming? You would have said the same thing about Munster getting Snyman and/or de Allende I'm sure. A bit of belief.
it's just not a realistic signing.. how many all blacks have leinster ever signed?
Eddie Hekenui and Clint Newland should have been All Blacks, do they count?

Re: Pro 14 final vs Ulster, Sept 12th.

What a club Ulster are transforming into. Avoid a heavy defeat this Saturday against Leinster at the Aviva and McFarland’s young coaching ticket can point to genuine progress. It’s the first professional ‘club’ in Irish rugby, rather than a province, since Pat Lam’s Connacht captured the Pro 12 tit...

Re: Leinster v Salarysins

I wouldn't be surprised if Farrell got the absolute minimum (two week entry point - and are they allowed mitigate below the minimum entry point, they used not be able to, but that is competition dependant I think) - and it wouldn't necessarily be due to shenannigans either. Firstly Farrell immediat...

Re: Pro 14 Semi-final vs Munster, Friday Sept 4th, 7.35pm

The comments on Munsterfans are just so silly. Too many Cork forwards and none from Limerick, the fees aren’t high enough in Munster private schools, time to take Frawley from Leinster..... All in all, very little respect for Leinster. They seem to think Munster players are inherently better than t...

Re: Pro 14 Semi-final vs Munster, Friday Sept 4th, 7.35pm

Not the Munster team that I would have picked. Munster appear to have went with mobility rather power in the front row. I think Leinster have the better pack, but the Munster backline is better than Leinster’s. The breakdown will be huge. If Munster can get through the phases and create space out w...

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

What's your feeling on Temple Carrig, Mildly? I know a guy who's become involved with teaching/coaching there recently (last 18 months or so). School on the up do you think? School definitely on the up, remarkable their progress since they opened. Great to see, hopefully it can be sustained. Indeed...

Re: Pro 14 Semi-final vs Munster, Friday Sept 4th, 7.35pm

Sitting here thinking of a way that Munster might sneak this one and it is not going well. Larmour and Toner starting may assist Munster as Larmour could be targeted in the air, and for his poor positioning. Toner, while he may improve the lineout, he would weaken the team around the park. I expect...

Re: Centre Options going forward

Shane Horgan calling for more Frawley at 12 for Leinster on second captains, saying that they need that 2nd distributor is needed for them to reach the next level. it's an interesting one. Depends how you use your 12, to create space at contact or to get the ball wide quickly. Maybe Frawley has the...

Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat 29th 19:35

Also Birch made an interesting point on de telly, when referring to this very aspect and the possibility last year of Will Connors moving to Connacht. Jackman reckons - and I too have long believed - that ambitious Leinster players, who've come through the academy etc. would prefer to be getting th...

Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat 29th 19:35

Is Leinster Rugby a profitable entity in its own right? Not even close. I didn't think so! It's admittedly hard to read because of the central contracts but with Dev and Rob moving off that list I think we have one more than Munster, so not a huge difference. Obviously, the reason behind central co...

Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat 29th 19:35

Posted on MFans after the game Honestly, if Leinser manage to keep the bulk of the younger talent coming thru while keeping the guys like Ruddock, JVDF, both Porter and Furlong, re-sign Sexton, etc, the other provinces should demand an opening of the books b/c something wouldn't be right. Most, if ...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

49:30 just before Johnny whooped about the turnover. I had only got the replay at the time but watching it again you can see that Archer lined him up from a few metres away and it was definitely deliberate. He takes Johnny around the neck/jaw with one arm and then leads with his head into the back ...

Re: Munster in the Aviva, August 22nd, 7.35pm KO

rewatching, looks like Baird was calling the lineout, big responsibility for a 21 yr old. He lead the tackle count for us too with 18. Not sure what happened to Scotty Fardy, he had a very quiet game and only made one tackle. Thought we were completely outplayed at the breakdown, our lineout was bl...
