Re: Irish Depth Chart 2020-21
by erskinechilders Ironically Munster now have a logjam of 10's. Best case scenario, they have Carbery, Crowley, Healy & Hanrahan. The first 3 of those players are/ will be international class players. What do we do with them? If Carbery had stayed at Leinster he would probably be Leinster & Irelan...

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport
A shame we lost but it was going to happen at some stage and under the circumstances I don't think it warrants the meltdown some people are having on the thread. As one poster wrote it could be a good kick up the ass to stop complacency from coming in. Also got to give kudos to Tom Daly of Connacht....

Re: Leinster v Connacht Sat 2nd 19.35 Eir Sport
by ronk I’d worry about backrow balance against a grizzled, experienced backrow. Connacht don’t have that. We have a full sub backrow too. We should secure good possession from scrum and line out too. The Connacht line-out against Ulster was a shambles especially when Delahunt came on. You can say ...

Interesting. Of the tiny bit I've seen of him he looks ready to step up. Wonder could we see him being thrown into the mix sooner rather than later.by mildlyinterested
Alex Soroka stayed training with leinster seniors instead of going into camp.

Dave McSharry is sueing the IRFU right now because of Brain injuries so that ship has sailed I'd imagine.

I could definitely see Cloete going with an emphasis put on IQ players going forward for all provinces.

How is Milasinovich playing? He looks a big unit. Is he international quality or a squad player?

Re: Andy Farell's Reign of Terror
by OTT I thought maybe we should kick to touch to try and get our lineout going since we have struggled so badly the last couple of games, if not this match when will it ever be a good time. Anyway we chose a scrum, the scrum was not great but we did win a penalty, on advantage Murray played it tru...

He deserves to be. If there is a summer tour I'd love to see him on it.by Dropkick
Coombes will be in the ireland squad before long. I'd have him ahead of CJ at 8 for the big games.

How's Cronin playing these days? I always rated him. Surprised he's not in the mix as a replacement to Healy internationally. Maybe the drug thing has blotted his copy book.

Two reds in Four games for their new guy. They need to teach this guy fast how to tackle properly in Union.

Re: England v Ireland 21 November 15:00
by keith Yeah true, like I said Byrne may very well not be up to this level. But at the same time you can't just throw a new 10 in behind a pack being decimated (twice now) in Twickenham and expect him to flourish. Any fly half would find it tough out there today. I don't think a lot Irish rugby fa...

I didn't hear anything, More I am surprised that Knox isn't being used more than he is. The man is a serious unit he should be given the gametime to show how good he is.

Kelleher worries me at 2. A lot of our chances are going to be set-piece orientated and he had a mare last time out. Herring might be less dynamic around the park but at least he can throw a ball straight.

by hugonaut Our scrum-half situation is quite weird. I remember thinking before the 2019 Six Nations that it was the deepest we had ever been – Marmion had just started in the team that beat the All Blacks with McGrath finishing the game well off the bench, Cooney was having a great season for Ulst...

Carty has being in enough training camps to be known by Farrell. Besides that's 278 minutes more than Burns!

Re: France vs Ireland, 31 Oct - 8pm
by Flash Gordon Apparently not! Ireland squad has Billy Burns in it. I don't think he's the best outhalf at Ulster, he might even be third best there in terms of ability. It's a surprise inclusion but nothing I am going to get to angry about. Carty is a known quality, that he wants to give Burns a ...
