Re: Top14 23/24
Remember, this is only true when it's about O'Gara going to work for Munster https://extra.ie/2021/12/17/sport/rugby/ronan-ogara-munster-return The quote today about being too big to accept an assistant coach job isn't a particularly good look. He's also speculating publicly about another coach get...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24
As long as that figure is more than zero then it would be a really shitty thing for EPCR to do considering they've been advertising the KO time for several months. fair enough but the police only changed the FA CUP start time a few days ago. as others have mentioned it will impact the TV audience, ...

Re: 2023/24 URC Fixtures
Stormers v Leinster: Based on last week's display against the Lions there is little reason to believe that Leinster have any chance in this SA fortress. But straight away, one must take account of Ospreys great win in the Stormers den, previously an absolute fortress in the URC. Verdict Away win, b...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
You are aware as Gay Byrne put it many years ago. "A nation of begrudgers" So don't hold your breadth. On that topic the late, great Breandán Ó hEithir published in 1986 the fabulously dark-humoured "Begrudger's Guide to Irish Politics", described on the website abebooks.co.uk a...

Another "the fans need to up their game" article from GT? Did he really say that? Headline was "Brilliant win over Bulls suggests Munster fans need to raise their game at Thomond" article content was less provocative Musha, we can all do with encouragement from time to time. :ro...

Re: Rumour Mill
Delighted we're hanging on to Boyle. I'd be disappointed to see Ben Murphy go. He was good on the EI tour to RSA last season and has impressed me anytime I've seen him play for the Leinster senior team. If he does move to Connacht, I hope the Gunne fella is all he's made out to be.

Re: A whiff of Cordite
But they are not repeated by commentators consistently, or otherwise- as gospel. There are issues in discussion in the media and in rugby society that they comment on. That’s their job- and nothing essentially wrong with it either. And, you can’t drag this argument away from the fact that it was on...

No alcohol back in the seats at this match. Sent from my CPH2145 using Tapatalk Why? Re: A whiff of Cordite
Rather I suggested, in terms, that we should be less sensitive to imagined or minor slights. and others are looking at the collection of slights (your word) as more than the sum of their parts. When they are consistently repeated as gospel, actual truth gets lost and the accepted nbarrative becomes...

Re: The quickening 2024
Going up against the Lions and going up against the Stormers isn't some sort of pointless task. A weaker team than we sent out last week beat the Lions last year. The team we sent over to play the Stormers two seasons ago – the season they won the URC - wasn't anything like our strongest team eithe...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
We like to beat ya, but no one else is allowed. Most Leinster fans support provinces when they're not playing another province. Even if we didn't we still want a financially strong Munster that contributed loads of players to the Ireland team. Absolutely. Apparently it's the competition for places ...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
WRT Scannell, he was always seen as a "something different" 12 back when that was still a thing. Nobody really talks about that now. Thats a 10/12/15 role for a 6-2 split IMO. Bringing in De Allende brought into sharp focus what Scannell didn't bring whatever his merits. You couldn't drop...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
For example if he frames the question as "we all agree that Leinster have an unfair advantage, how do we fix it?", rather than "what can the IRFU do to help the other three provinces become more competitive?" it feeds into a different narrative. Its that word thats the most dama...

Re: The quickening 2024
You'd have to imagine the coaches are prepared for all outcomes, including losing to the Lions. If they haven't a plan, then that'd be a pretty glaring problem. So I highly doubt we'll see anyone fly out to SA. It's incredibly unlikely. We've got a team preparing for a sold out European semi-final ...

by naraic » April 21st, 2024, 11:13 am sunshiner1 How is Marmion doing there as a matter of interest? Firmly second choice. 4 starts and 17 bench appearances. Surprised at that. Always rated him highly and thought he would have been fantastic in Farrell's system as he's the closest scrumhalf to JGP...
