Superb from Sheehan. That was headed to touch. Basically won a yellow card and likely try with that play.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Was he not normally a tighthead lock? Doing a bit of everything out there tonight. Contact, jackling, carrying, passing, jumping but he’s scrummaging on loosehead side and wyncherly at tighthead?

+1. Based on the first 20 mins we’d have hammered these. And the stadium is like a library too

Re: RWC 2023 Ireland v NZ

We totally dominated…aside from the first phase try, the scrum, the lineout, the ruck and the scoreboard. Our own trickerations with Sheehan and O’Mahony were agonisingly close. We butchered our maul try unfortunately and despite the yellows I don’t think got the rub of the green on the refereeing. ...

Re: RWC : Ireland v Scotland

Looking thorough list of centurions it’s startling that there are 93 of them and there is only one you’d really say predominantly played 6. That’s Courtney Lawes and he played a fair few caps in the second row too. I am open to correction, but I don’t see anyone else who you’d say was a mainly blind...

Re: Ireland 2021-22

Getting dropped for being late is a pretty standard punishment in professional sport - and lets face it, Mal and punctuality weren't always bosum buddies. Cheika dropped Shaggy once for missing a team meeting. Now, the reason he was late was because his flight was delayed coming back from the Six N...

Re: Ireland 2021-22

This has been playing on my mind way more than it should over Christmas. It’s been niggling at me since I heard O’Driscoll in commentary implying something very similar. They were praising Lowry for doing something very well. O’Driscoll was along the lines of he’s very good and done very well for U...

Re: Munster Rugby 2021/2022 - Search for the Holy Grail

by Oldschool Marmion is available as a long term option with an already proven decent ceiling. Agreed. His box kicks aren't the best but everything else is top class. His form this year has also been excellent. I don't know why Farrell hasn't picked him. Has also been very, very effective playing t...

😂 very good. Funny, as a total aside, joe Schmidt always put me in mind of frank Gorshin. I think it is that you might have yer language settings on Spanish or something there with the ¿?. It’s not just the structure of the URC. Am I being overly dramatic to say the whole structure and future of the...

Re: Connacht 2021/22

Connacht just need an experienced, heavy, steady, second row to compliment what they already have. They’ve enough depth pretty much everywhere else. But then, that’s what everyone wants I suppose. They are playing really well, but are having to play really well every time they take the field.

See after another lockdown, the next coach who proposes a game like that should just get the road. Stick that clause in the contract please.

Re: Munster Rugby 2021/2022 - Search for the Holy Grail

On the plus side, people can go home safe in the knowledge that they are going to be locked away from seeing two teams playing a game so fearful and devoid of any ambition whatsoever for a good while. Castres too - fight to get back into it, then kick the ball off.

Re: Munster Rugby 2021/2022 - Search for the Holy Grail

Munster win a great lineout, fake the drive and go to Hodnett who breaks a tackle and makes 7-8 yards. Next play? Murray box kick from inside his own half to just over half way line which Castres eventually win. You're 9-0 up against a weak French side at home. Why do that?! I do not know, but ther...

Re: Ulster 2021/22

Lowry is the one most impressing me. Somebody mentioned Mack Hansen has played a bit at 15 which I think is interesting, and the three of them - Hansen, Lowry and Keenan are all quite alike. Keenan is playing superbly, but it’s nice to have a few players playing well who play similarly and could slo...
