Re: Pre-Season 2018/19

Leinster development was the name of the u20 side last summer. Oh that would make more sense. They referred to Leinster development as the team that lost in the final of the B&I Cup last year, so I presumed they were talking about a Leinster A side. But it could have been an error. Thanks for t...

Re: Pre-Season 2018/19

I just noticed that we’re apparently scheduled to play another pre season friendly against Coventry on the 18th of August in Donnybrook, which is the day after the previous game against Newcastle. It is supposed to be ‘Leinster development’ which is Leinster A who will be playing. I don’t see how th...

Re: Ireland u20 2017-2018

I have to say, the structure of this tournament is really terrible. The games are so close together that it must have seriously negative effects on the young players bodies. Ireland will have played 5 games throughout the course of this competition, and those games are spaced out over 19 days. They ...

Re: Leinster's Halfback Options going forward

My understanding is that the current JC possible moves are still Ulster and Munster with Munster being favored. I also believe that this is a one year deal which is unpopular with the other teams ad while not popular in Leinster is seen as a lesser evil as at least we get him back and IRFU will owe...

Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium

They'll be a lot better with Patchell at No10 than they were with Dan Jones there. That was a terrible selection call from Pivac for the semi-final. +1 I agree with you there, Patchell is an excellent outhalf, and far better at 10 than 15. Although I think the decision was made on the basis that th...

Re: Draw for H Cup / Champions Cup 2019

The seeding system for the Champions Cup has to be changed. Surely they can come up with a metric that gauges how well a team performs both domestically and in Europe. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have these kind of scenarios.

Re: Leinster v Munster 2018 Pro14 S/F 19th May RDS

A recurring theme of today’s game, was many players answering their critics. I was delighted to see how certain individuals performed, and proved a point about certain aspects of their game. Jack McGrath was one of them, who put in a strong shift and displayed some deft hands to set put Lowe through...

Leinster's Backrow going forward.

What's the point in drafting in Tony Ryan or David O'Connor? We know they're not good enough. Back the academy lads instead who are probably good enough already, and if not may become so. Leinster will be pretty bare on opensides next season if they don’t get some cover. Leavy and Van der Flier wil...

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

Just had a look at the weather expected in Bilbao over the next week and it doesn’t look like we’ll need any warm weather exposure to prepare for this match. A high of 23 and a low of 8, with the average temperature looking like it’s about 16. Of course a massive heat wave could arrive at the time o...

Is this genuinely a situation where we will have to let one of them go, or is it just speculation?

Leinster v Llanelli European semi

A few people have highlighted a couple of points already about it, but Henshaw was really brilliant yesterday, he reminded me just how good he is. He runs such good lines with huge pace which helped us creep towards their line. And the physicality he brings to every defensive hit he makes is pretty ...

Re: Leinster's 2nd Row options

I’d rather not have a 40 year old playing for us in the second row next season, but that’s just me. I'd rather have a sarcasm font. But we can't all get what we want :) Well it went right past my head there, I could do with a sarcasm font at times myself to be honest! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH ...

Leinster Vs Benetton Rugby Sat 19.35 TG4

Is it just me or does Mick Kearney drop at least one ball in a promising position every game he plays? His handling is unbelievably bad. He looks like some random big fit lad from the gym with feck all rugby experience that they’ve brought on for a trial. Incredible how far he has fallen from Conna...

Re: Leinster Vs Benetton Rugby Sat 19.35 TG4

Pretty dire performance, although Treviso were excellent, it has to be said. There were some pretty awful performances across the board, so I’m not going to assess every player. Deegan and Murphy are the only 2 players who I thought had good games, Larmour didn’t do much wrong as well. There are rea...
