Re: Wales v Ireland 2019 6N (The Match)
I appreciate the reasonable case for the defence, and I do agree with some things – a clutch of half a dozen games doesn’t necessarily tell us much about another clutch of games 6 months hence, so it’s entirely possible we can go on and have a great world cup. But I don’t agree that consciously or u...

Re: Wales v Ireland 2019 6N (The Match)
I have always loved Schmidt, couldn’t get rid of Kidney fast enough, he was totally out of his depth and wrecking the Irish team - so was delighted to get an adult in the room. And things went swimmingly for a while, but over time I developed 2 sneaking reservations about Irish teams under him - fir...

Re: Wales v Ireland 2019 6N (The Match)
Anyone on here trying to claim that the ref is the problem is having a serious laugh.. this is an embarrassing mess of a performance, capping an embarrassing mess of a tournament.. not a single unit or system has functioned, tactical adaptability has regressed to Declan Kidney levels, and selections...

Re: Rumour Mill
I can absolutely understand the frustration for Leinster fans - and by the way also completely agree that the Ulster academy, along with many aspects of the club in the Shane Logan era, was a disgrace in terms of talent identification and development. In fairness it's showing signs of turning around...

Re: Rumour Mill
I heard that he met McFarland, but of his own accord. FWIW.mildlyinterested wrote:Another rumour going around twitter is that IRFU trying to get Jack McGrath to Ulster. fwiw
He is after all a test Lion, currently not making the Ireland 23. Not surprising he’s keen to find somewhere he’s guaranteed starts, in his prime.

Re: Wasps getting excuses in early
It’s an interesting debate – on finances / “budgets” there is usually more smoke than light, particularly on social media (actually Welsh rugby twitter is worse than anywhere for serious quantities of BS around budgets). More than there has to be – we know what the IRFU spends on players, because th...

Re: Ulster 2018-2019
+1 to all of that. And he'll be gone before the new head coach arrives I would be inclined to agree, however this is a defensive move to shore the squad up, given our current injury profile. We have gone from a position of being heavily stocked in outside backs to being pretty threadbare - with Mar...
