Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May
Leo already did. And saying another word before the game would put more people off, which would make him the incompetent one. They're not going to change it now, but if you give them a bloody nose they'll retaliate when they get a chance. As long as he stay quiet, it's win win. Poor attendance and ...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May
It looks like to sit essentially along the side of the pitch (Hogan or Cusack stands) it's a minimum of €75 + fees per ticket. So much for the strategy of not robbing people. Utter nonsense how they appear to have designated c. 80% of the stadium as Category 1. The exact same as last year. Milking ...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster
There is absolutely zero justification in the world for why Ulster have signed Werner Kok given the state of their current squad, but that's absolved of any furore whatsoever. It is possible that Werner Kok's role is to demonstrate to a herd of underperforming/emerging wingers how to be a real pro ...

Treating it as a regular match week where the opposition get as little time as possible to game plan based on our selection.

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Totally agree Flash. Anyway, booing gives him more attention, would have preferred no reaction. Watching the game back, it seems that the TV director took the view of not showing the LAR coaching staff (ROG) after he was booed a few times. It was wal-to-wall Leo & Co in the second half. The cyn...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Tadgh Furlong could be our most important player tomorrow, the 2 LAR loose head props are 21 year old Penverne age 21, 6:2, 111kg and Kaddouri aged 20, 6:2, 114kg. They both played against Ireland Under 20’s last July and have played very little for LAR. The Tongan hooker Latu is 31 and unlikely to...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Kelleher, Josh and Conan are three high class internationals to bring on...I don't think LAR have the same impact...but I fear their backline more than the heavies this time. Overall I feel our refreshed approach and talent, at home, in another week without travel, will see us the right side of the ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Leo saying Healy was available but Milne deserved the spot. Interesting/confusing given that Milne hasn't started a competitive fixture and both played against the Bulls. Healy has been getting scrum penalties in the last two matches (after the first 10 mins vs Bulls). Harry should do whatever Miln...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
From Matt Williams in the Times: "While it is part of Leinster’s culture to not publicly talk about their passion, unlike Munster and La Rochelle, it is a very foolish team that deceives themselves into believing that their passion is superior to Leinster’s. A trap that many Munster teams of t...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
What we lack in bench power we have in terms of tempo - Milne, Kelleher, Molony, VDF and Conan all have good feet and Big Mike is more agile than Sclavi.
You would also hope that Tadhg will be able to put a 21 year old loose head under pressure.

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Just looking around mad twitter land and a general opinion seems to be that we are "over thinking it" in relation to the selection. Thoughts? Not at all. Based on what? The Connors selection isn't new and worked last time. JJ starting before Moloney is hardly radical. Cian is probably inj...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Really? Jackman talking about a LAR win breaking Leinster? We have to remember that our head coach arrived in November and our backs coach was away, he had no pre season with the players, that the bulk of the first choice squad played in a WC. In modern day language I'd say that our prep for this s...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Conan wil be key regardless of when he comes on. If as a sub then lets give him 30 mins minimum. Am worried about Alalatoa's scrummaging. Leave Baird at 6, it is where he has impact and that imnpact would be drained away too much if he was stuck in a position that he really doesn't dominate in. Most...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2
I think both Harry and Ross are fine players and I don't really have a preference for one over the other. But, and lets be honest here, are we not arguing over what our favourite shade of magnolia is? It's not as if we're arguing the difference between two entirely different but equally brilliant p...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2
Johnny became what he was by dint of a long term injury to the incumbent and then lots of time in the saddle. I remember plenty of flat games with errors by Johnny at the RDS but he was given a free pass by most here. Ross has had lots of time in the saddle and his ceiling is what it is. Harry's lac...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2
Except for the absence of Ringer, which is a grave concern, delighted with backs selection. Forwards missing Milne & Jenkins from my preferred starters. Can understand the logic, particularly with Porter available. Conan, Jenkins, Kelleher will have big impact off the bench. I'd like to have se...
