Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

Would it be beneficial for Leinster if Leo offered Connacht six-month loans of Charlie Ryan, Martin Moloney & David Hawkshaw? It's hard to see how these guys are going to get any game time in Leinster in the coming months and equally Connacht look like they could run into real player shortages in t...

Hawkshaw ruled out, Silvester takes his spot on the bench
Can’t even imagine the mental pain he must be going through right now, have to feel for the lad, been so unlucky with injuries

Not a good sign for CK, unless he’s injured no point to rest him as we have 10 day turn around.

There was a chance !?
Who’s CK ?

heard that leinster u18 schools outhalf Charlie McNamee has switched from clongowes to michaels along with his younger brother James who was starting 10 for clongowes JCT last season.
No way, that’s insane, that kind of carry on was unheard of back in my day. Very rare to see something like that

watched newbridge and pres bray yesterday.. newbridge have a huge pack.. and they were missing Donough Lawlor.

Berti Newman and Sam Prendergast very good at 12 and 10.
Let’s hope COVID doesn’t affect their cup campaign this year, would of been a very good final between them and Clongowes

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

Due to old school allegiance - forgive me - watching Hawkshaw helping Belvo win two SC titles in a row and narrowly missing a third I was convinced he was going to be the NEXT BIG THING. As such when Harry Byrne and himself were playing for the Ireland u20s I nearly took umbrage, that the former wa...

Re: Leinster Squad 19-20

I find it amusing when people consider EOS a munster fan. During his tenure with the IRFU he was less popular in Munster than a sci-fi experiment gone wrong amalgam of Declan Kidney and MOC was in Leinster, a feeling that was mutual. So you’re skeptical that the people who plucked a guy from Hawaii...

So Milne, Clarkson and Ryan are training with seniors.

No sign of Patterson, Hawkshaw, Silvester or O'Sullivan.
Hawkshaw should be back to full training in the next 2 weeks

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

Success in the cup is the not the same thing as producing players capable of playing professional rugby. They are correlated but not the same thing. Blackrock seems to be better at winning cups than Michael's (possibly due to better overall squad strength) but Michael's seem to be better at produci...

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

He was never proven wrong at any level he played though, just thought it was a bit unfair he never got a chance because he was the best 7 I’ve seen play in the cup for a very long time and certainly better than Scott Penny at schools level, it’s just disappointing they never even gave Kearney a chanc...

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

Look forget the Mcgagh bit that’s not the point but how does being a crucial player in two winning cup sides and being better than your opposing player, captaining Leinster u19 and starting Ireland u19 have nothing to do with academy selections?

Re: Leinster Academy 20-21

success and winning the cup at underage level doesn't really come into it. FYI Penny was the starting 7 for his leinster u18 side, his ireland u18 side, his leinster u19 side and ireland u19 side while in school. it's remarkable that he hasn't improved much from school, where you claim he wasn't go...
