Re: New Heineken cup format
Looking at this sponsor roster, its all MEA. Kappa are big awareness wise in Africa but they arent relevant in rugby, BKT and QA are Emirates, Vodacom are SA and Gilbert aint selling sh!t to people who dont already buy Gilbert.

Re: Heineken Champions Cup Final 2023
Everyone here on the last 60 pages could do better than listen to Brian O'Driscoll today on Newstalk. Theres been reams and reams of blaming everyone, anything, else and that is becoming the Leinster way. Loosing from such a start, at home, in our situation is GUBU, Northamptonesque, if you will. Ro...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
I agree that you can't guarantee winning them. However, as a very good team who are consistently there or thereabouts, you would expect a strike rate of at least one in in four years, notwithstanding a couple of tight classes and being outmuscled on a couple of occasions by enormous Saracens/La Roc...

Re: Leinster V Toulouse Semi Final
Our weakness has been a lack of size and ballast in the row at the top level of European competition against French opposition. Jenkins starts, I don’t think it’s a debate. In lower level URC games his difference in the maul is night and day. Not to ignore Moloneys very significant leadership role i...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Like the majority here, of course I understand we are in a golden generation, watching wonderful rugby week in week out, one week it’s Prendergast, then it’s Turner being magnificent, season long for me Garry has just gone to another level and is player of the season for me so far. I get that. But w...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
We might not like it, but the core of the article is true. If we dont beat Toulouse, at home, and again win in the final, at home, it will be a disaster. One Champions cup in 11 years for potentially Europes greatest team? There are plenty of teams in the interim with a better record. Stu and Leo wi...

Re: Leinster v Ulster: HC Last 16; April 1st
Have pals in county GAA circles and rugby and until very recently GAA lads were not allowed out to celebrate their acheivements and that was a huge barrier to players feeling fulfilled (Clare under Davy years ago, Wexford more recently for example). Our boys are only human and one of Stu (and ~Joes!...

Re: Leinster Rugby and Syracuse University Announce Partnership
Have to view this as a very positive move - we are leaders in player development but US college sports is another level. Syracuse gym and sports facilities outside the US would be very tasty - i think they have a top level basketball team and lacrosse is very big there - ie they are not mugs

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - Ireland
Murray was superb however and Casey and Kilcoyne performed very well when the came on and i think that will eventually filter through on the analysis over the week. I don't think Murray had one of his better games to be honest. I'm not suggesting he was a bad selection, or that I'd change it. It wa...

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - Ireland
Echo the above - game at the weekend was fantastic to attend, SA in Nov was incredible atmosphere from start to finish, NZ V Ireland in Dublin is one of the best atmospheres in world sport. Complaining about the Lansdowne road experience is written and consumed in the main by people who dont like or...

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - Ireland
No idea who the Cian F twitter lad is but Ross Byrnes contribution was crucial, the two kicks to the corner to pin France back in their territory as mentioned above were key to grinding the french down and us to winning the match. Ross has absolutely grown into the international role and he is defin...

I think Furlong is allowed play this - maybe a half. I think its the same for the rest of the starting Leinster and Irish internationals - they get some minuets in this fixture , the two H Cup games, then camp and 6 nations.

Re: Sevens
Bummer alright, good momentum from Dubai. Drew in first game vs Spain last week too so they need to get up an hour earlier next time! Big scalp vs Fiji but didnt make the quarters due to points diff due to a late Fiji try I think. The tour seems pretty class, i can understand players passing up the ...

Was at Dubai sevens this year and im converted - its like a blitz for grownups. Great day out, definitely worth going and then youre hooked. Ireland in a packed stadium for the final last week and Womens in semi final Vs NZ in Cape town this weekend - great time to hop on the bandwagon! Roche and Mc...

Furlong has been playing 18 months of non stop rugby since the Lions tour, I'd say hes being managed till the internationals
