Re: Leinster v Cardiff
Don't RTE show the U20 games on the Friday prior to the Internationals? So perhaps thats why they have put on the game on Thursday? Also, I cant see them ever moving a Pro12 game from the RDS / Lansdowne Road due to 13k+ season ticket holders. Regardless of the number of STH who would show up in say...

Re: Navy V Notre Dame
I see that the GAA have changed the dates of the 2012 All Ireland Hurling and Football Championships Finals from the traditional 1st and 3rd Weekends in September to the 2nd & 4th weekends, specifically because of this game. Perhaps the Notre Dame blue is the colour which they are concerned abou...

Now we are just at the mercy of Sky - this is actually the one game I would like to see on a saturday (preferably night, but no way Sky will give that slot to Glasgow! :O ). No doubt it will also be the one occasion Sky let us play on friday >:( Hope not, as I took a flyer and booked flights with A...

Healy was also at fault for the try - he was a pillar and was getting wound up by one of the glasgow players - he detached himself from the ruck, took two, or three steps to his right and created the gap for the try. Generally, he looked annoyed and frustrated. Just wondering if there was a reason....

Re: Euro 2012 - a nice little earner
Has anyone heard from Mauler since Tuesday night? I'm worried he might have spontaneously combusted when Ireland qualified. Either that or he's busy building a very long extension to his wall! I'm hopeing it's all just a bad dream & I'll wake up to find Steve Staunton is still manager of the Us...

Dublin GAA v Leinster Rugby
Andy Kettle, the Dublin GAA Chairman was on Off the Ball just now. Eoin McDevitt asked him about the piece in their mission statement 'We can't copyright a colour but the subliminal exploitation of Dublin's unique sporting hue by our competitors has not gone unnoticed' and was it a direct reference ...

Sure aren’t most of the GAA heads in Dublin culchies recently settled up in the big smoke or one generation off the road and therefore they probably support Munster!
May or may not be entirely true!

Re: Martin Johnson quits
If Leicester Tigers lose at the weekend to Ulster, it could put Richard Cockerill be under pressure after 5 defeats and a draw in opening 8 games of the AP not to mention the thumping Llanelli gave them in the LV Cup. Maybe MJ might be eying up a come back to his old stomping ground?

Martin Johnson quits
England team manager Martin Johnson has stood down after three and a half years in the role. His decision follows a miserable World Cup which ended in quarter-final defeat by France and featured a series of on and off-field controversies. The 41-year-old won 84 caps for England as a player, leading ...

Re: Leinster hit back in blue row with Dubs
My point is that Dublin GAA are not the only short-sighted ones for claimed Dublin is "GAA Country" as claimed by suisse. IRFU/Guinness (and Leinster by association having two very prominent Leinster players involved in the advertisement). With Rugby now being the winter distraction for m...

"The Blue Jersey is an unique, inclusive brand, uniting Dublin's dense expanse, blurring the difference in class and possession which became so pointedly manifest during the delusional days of the Celtic Tiger," Their reference to the Celtic Tiger is peculiar alright. Considering, the man...

Rugby is dead in Scotland, they reduced the number of teams to increase attendances, but even still they have tiny gates. Its considered very very elitist in Scotland Not entirely true. The Borders is the hot bed of rugby in Scotland, similar to Limerick in Ireland, the South West of England and So...

Interesting Aussie Rugby viewpoint on their expansion into Asia. AUSTRALIA'S Super Rugby teams are looking to join the push into Asia by playing pre-season games in cities such as Hong Kong and Singapore. The Wallabies have played Bledisloe Cup Tests against the All Blacks in Hong Kong and Tokyo ove...

Alan Gaffney off to The Waratahs
LONG-suffering NSW Waratahs fans crying out for attacking rugby would have been pleased to hear Alan Gaffney had been appointed as the team's senior assistant coach. Raised on running rugby at Sydney club Randwick, Gaffney played more than 200 games for the Galloping Greens and later coached the Ell...

It's such a shame that Setanta failed at this, mostly for the commitments it made to the English Premier league and getting their numbers wrong on the growth of the subscriptions as a result. But it would be great if a rugby dedicated sports channell came on board, bought up all the rights, plus AP...
