Re: Silly Season - Random Leinster Queries
Reggie, after talking to his missus took a year unpaid leave from his work & asked Leinster to let him train full time with them - unpaid. He reckoned he had what it takes to make it as a pro & wanted to give it a shot. So no doubt he was out of shape when he turned up on that first day and ...

Great to see the mens team show some fcuking pride, unlike the ladies team in Poland last week.

Squad for Baa Baa's
The Ireland Management have today announced the squad for the summer tour game against the Barbarians in Gloucester on May 29th. The squad comprises of players from Connacht, Munster and Ulster as none of the teams will have any involvement in the RaboDirect Pro 12 final, which takes place in Dublin...

Re: Munster Thread 2011-2012
Very sad news to hear alright. He was a fine player for Munster, Ireland and The Lions. As was said above, remarkable family for 3 brothers to have toured with the Lions. He will be missed in both Red & Green.

Re: Any Point Having A Season Ticket?
Ah come on, it's still great value. You also get free into the A games which can be fun too. I'm raging that I didn't get a ticket too, but at least I had a 1 in 4 chance. Better than a kick on the bottom. True enough about value for games in RDS, however IF Leinster Rugby had of only given each se...

Re: Barca like or kilkennyesque
I was heartned to hear Jerry Flannery on Newstalk this morning saying that the first time he was at a match in Croke Park was the first rugby game there v France when he was on the bench. He said he was not much into GAA. I'd compare us to the West Indies Cricket team in the 80's & early 90's wh...

Re: George Hook
Calling for Joe Schmidt to be fired after four games in September 2010, completely unfair criticism of Heaslip, SOB, BOD, Sexton, Luke Fitz etc. I agree completely with you. Stephen Jones in the Sunday Times works on the same principals as Hook, trying to provoke reaction, by making outlandish stat...

Re: Players Fitness for Quarter Final
I bet if you asked any of the 8 starters or 2 replacements from Leinster playing for Ireland this weekend which level, 6N V Pro12 they would prefer to play - I think there would be only one answer, and it aint v the Hairsprays.

Ireland vs Italy 2007 - St. Patrick's Day in the Roman sun. We scored some wonderful tries but why, oh why didn't Leamy kick that damned ball off the pitch at the end!! When Drico went off with 20 to go, I turned to the Current Mrs Mauler who accompanied me to Roma for that game and I said thats it...

Was he the one who coned the term, "Lady Boys" for the Leinster team? He was indeed. With friends/former players like Franno, who needs enemies? But his heart was in the right place. I don't think having fans with typewriters does any good to anyone ... oh wait ... Niall Kiely's ahem pre ...

What a load of b*%&!cks of a show. RTE go to the trouble of getting S Horgan, A Quinlan & F Sheehan on the panal, to discuss rugby for an hour, yet the lads got to talk for about 8 minutes because of highlights of AIL, U20s, a review of the opening two rounds of the 6N and last weeks Pro12 games.
Compared to the 90mins that the Breakdown has weekly, when they still show highlights from games, but they are not afraid to have a discussion and spend some time actually talking about a topic in depth, rather than Joanne Cantwell trying to shoehorn in every topic on her clipboard.

Just finished Crashed and Byrned, [the greatest racing driver you never saw] . It won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year a few years ago, its the story of an Irish racing driver called Tommy Byrne who threw away a great career in motor racing. He was supposedly as talanted as Senna, but never ...
