Well that's Frannie's take or used to be.
I spent a whole evening April 2009 in Limerick having everyone in every bar telling me something similar.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

If I was Ulster, I'd be down looking to sign Paddy Patterson and Rowan Osbourne. Cause underneath Cooney they have very little.

Re: U20 Club 2019/20

I was talking about the ĺower divisions in leinster not just the top teams I know about Ulster not running a 20s league. They do occasionally have 20s competitions be it at Easter or throughout the season. Connachts main sides do play in leinster but plenty others play in blitzes as well as other g...

Re: U20 Club 2019/20

Any update/thoughts on the other 20s divisions? At least leinster run these unlike Munster. Ulster have no U20 league. Queens do play in Conroy Cup but that's only 1 weekend. They don't put teams forward for the Fraser McMullen Cup. Connacht teams (UCG, Galwegians & Buccaneers play in the the Leins...

Have you seen many others? I've not seen Lansdowne yet, but going on results, they are the pace setters.

Clontarf 28 - 22 DUFC Lansdowne 31 - 10 Terenure Barnhall 12 - 15 Old Wesley UCD 18 - 15 Old Belvedere Good win for Clontarf. It would be wrong to characterise this as Tarf forwards v Trinity backs, especially as the try to put Clontarf in front was a free flowing move starting in their own 22. But ...

Re: Thanks Joe

Joe will only get thanks and admiration from me. My personal favorite game that highlighted his qualities as a coach was the away pool win v's ASM in 2010. The perceived wisdom at the time was we'd be lucky to hang on in the match and then try and nick it in the last 15 mins if we were close. Instea...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020

Neither Hart or Williams are HEC level SHs and barely P14 tbh. The Matheson signing showed the weakness/stupidity of the NIQ rules. Williams has never looked anything near the required level for the irish team but Munster kept him because they had to. Simialrly Munster signed Hart because he was IQ...

Nov 3rd Clontarf 17 - 13 Terenure DUFC 17 - 16 Old Belvedere UCD 53 - 0 Barnhall Lansdowne 35 - 5 Old Wesley Tight enough win for Tarf suggests that Terenure have bounced back from their previous weeks defeat (though I hear that loss was a lot closer up till 65mins). In a very scrappy game, Belvo wi...

Re: U20 Club 2019/20

As is the nature of this competition the results tend to be very tight. But the deserved winners were UCD with a 7 - 6 win over Trinity in the final. Their 1st win in 6 years. A special mention for UCC who drew with UCD in their pool game.

thanks for the update. interesting to see Soroka is playing 8.. certainly could be where he settles or possibly at 6. Don’t think there’s a professional number 8 taller than Soroka, very exciting prospect, he has very good offloads aswell, you can tell his coaches in his former school(Belvo) are fro...

Prem1 Qualifiers 29 Sept 15:00 Old Wesley 20 (3) V 20 (3) Old Belvedere Energia Park So OB qualify for Prem1 and a shoot out for the 2nd Qualifier between OW & Marys next weekend. Are Old Wesley & Marys better than anticipated? Or OB aren't as good as expected? or other mitigating circumstances?

Re: U20 Club 2019/20

Old Belvedere 20’s beat Trinity side 29 - 25 at the weekend. Justin Leonard & Karl Martin involved. It was a pre season game. Hard to read too much into it. Really scrappy game. Not much structure to defense or attach on both sides. OB looked good and are confident that they have a stronger team th...
