Re: RWC 2023: Ireland

Think it’s time for Ireland and Leinster to play Doris at 8 and fit other players around him.

He’s the best 8 in Ireland by some distance.

Ireland and Leinster are both better when Doris is at 8.

Conan is a very good player but Doris is another step up.

Re: Pre season 23/24

Basher Boyle looking strong: https://www.sportsfile.com/id/2557821/ Good to see Rory McGuire [b.2002] and Temi Lasisi [b.2001] out there as well. Abdeladze's departure for Brive is a big opportunity for both of them ... and for Clarkson [b.2000] as well, obviously. Vakh played in 10 of 22 regular s...

Re: Leadership

I really really disagree with this. The amount of quick ruck ball he generates from clearing out players when he plays 6 is phenomenal. He also makes a ton of tackles as a 6. He might not carry as much but he really does play 6 to a world class level. Doris will play well wherever he’s picked but a...

Re: Leadership

Doris is also the best 6 in Ireland. Doris doesn’t influence a game to the same extent at 6. Leinster and Ireland are better with him at 8. Conan is a very good player who I think could do a brilliant job at 6. Really don’t understand why the Leinster management persist with not playing Doris in hi...

Re: Leadership

It’s interesting to note that commentary coming from some including Dan Leavy who I would place a lot of weight on - refer to our lack of leadership as an issue. There is no doubt that when James Ryan went off our fortunes in the final took a turn for the worse. Looking back at our 4 CC wins we had...

Stade Francais or Racing?

Getting out of Ireland might not be a bad move for him.

Re: Heineken Champions Cup Final 2023

Toulouse seem to have La Rochelle’s number and we have Toulouse’s number which is quite bizarre really. Would love if Toulouse or even one of the saffa teams took out La Rochelle next year. Saracens, aswell, if they got them in England would have a shot. I think La Rochelle have overtaken Toulouse a...

Re: Heineken Champions Cup Final 2023

I was listening to Dan Leavy during the week and watching the match earlier it struck me how much Leinster have missed Leavy. We definitely lack leadership, especially when things aren’t going our way, in big 50/50 games. Sean O’Brien, besides being a magnificent player, gave us leadership, a real h...

Re: Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm

Wake up call. Will concentrate minds. Murphy an awful ref and he should never have been given this game. Makes the URC look like a jokeshop when you look at how imbalanced the penalty count was and the lack of 2/3 yellows for Leinster. If it was wendyball we'd be talking about Malaysian bookmakers'...

Re: Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm

Joey Carbery must have seriously pissed off someone down south Got married on Tuesday,up in Dublin, so I'm not sure how much focus he had on Saturday's game. That was just the signing. Ceremony is in the summer Joey can’t even make the bench with Healy and Crowley both starting. Serious insult to J...

Two good scrum half prospects coming through in Ben Murphy and Fintan Gunne.

Great to see.

Re: Bulls result - best thing that could’ve happened.

Wouldn’t dwell on it. Sure Leo didn’t even hang around for the game! The South African trip has been beneficial for a number of players. Michael Milne and Chris Cosgrave enhanced their reputations. Both are fine players. Leinster are a little light in the back three so Cosgrave developing so well is...

Re: Bulls result - best thing that could’ve happened.

I don’t get the reaction to today’s game.

When the teams were named yesterday it was obvious Leinster were going to take a shellacking.

Bewildering that anybody would have expected anything else.

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Aviva Stadium - Good Friday - 8pm

100% agree with the above. Soundest fan group I've ever met, going all the way back to 2009 when a group of elderly Tigers fans bought myself and a mate a bottle of champagne post game. Wow! Kudos to them, whoever they were!! Indeed. Albeit I was not so pleased the morning after trying to g...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

It's an absolute travesty what's happened to Carberry. I don't know how much of it is down to the injuries he's suffered or if its down to the way he's been managed. Either way it looks like he'll have to get out of Munster and start again somewhere. It's not working. I think you’re right. I get th...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

Aye. Outside of Nash and maybe Casey when he came on its hard to see too many positives. Coombes very poor even though he hot a try. Carbery was brutal. A player that just looks lost. Kilcoyne was getting destroyed by Fagerson. Guys you’d expect to stand up teally let them down. It's an absolute tr...
