3 McCarthy offences already Baird with the stone hands again Frawley needs to hang on but it's another sloppy bit.from JGP. These all came after your extensive rant on the team selection. If we revisit your "calls" there: - you wanted Russell over Larmour - Larmour scored our only try and...

Re: La Rochelle v Leinster Sunday 3.15 TNT Sports

I do think when people are going after some of our young players like Clarkson or Harry Byrne or who ever the next guy will be and not in a constructive way just flippantly they should take a step back from the keyboard. I've read more posts talking about how posters are going after Harry and Tom, ...

Re: Leinster v Sale Sharks RDS Sat 16th 5.30 RTE

The days of going all out in Europe and rotating heavily for the league are (or at least should be) over. The URC is as good as it's ever been and there is so much margin for error in the HC group stage, you shouldn't need to go all out in every game. First of all, I'm talking about going all out f...

Re: Leinster v Sale Sharks RDS Sat 16th 5.30 RTE

The players have shown repeatedly (for Ireland and Leinster) that they are capable of playing two weeks in a row.

This is the first home HEC game of the season. Respect the tournament and your home fans. Put out the full team.

Aren't we already doing that? Conan, Furlong, Lowe, McGrath, Osbourne, Byrne R and now Byrne H all out.

I think we play the strongest team we can and if necessary let them rest after that.

Re: La Rochelle v Leinster Sunday 3.15 TNT Sports

I hate singling out one of our players but I’m worried about Clarkson’s scrummaging tomorrow. There’s no way we’ll have the game won by the time he comes on, and whether we’re hanging on or chasing a lead you really don’t want to be weakening your scrum at the critical moment I agree, but if you ap...

Re: La Rochelle v Leinster Sunday 3.15 TNT Sports

So for all of Frawley's apparent flexibility we don't go 6-2?

In general though, assuming Conan and Furlong are injured, the only real issue is with 7 and 12. I like the call at 7, not so much at 12.

Archer got away with a few obvious ones the week before I thought. I mean if I can spot he was over extended, how could Busby miss it?

Still, thought Busby had two good games apart from the scrum.

Re: Leinster v Connacht - 2nd Dec 2023, 7:35pm, RTE Sports, Premier Sports

We once again decide to play 22 vs 23 Connacht didn’t use Michael McDonald on their bench either, so was 22 v 22 I think the point is that we go for a 6/2 split on the bench again, I'd imagine to exploit strengths in our squad, then we don't use it, in a game we were close to losing. It makes no se...

Re: Leinster v Connacht - 2nd Dec 2023, 7:35pm, RTE Sports, Premier Sports

Maybe Leo and coaching staff are trying to give the squad a chance to work things out themselves by putting players in difficult situations now, rather then usual procession of easy BP wins up to May when they fall at the last hurdle. I dont care if he experiments all season long if we find our bes...

Only players I'd rest would be Porter, Doris and Keenan. Everyone else should be more than capable of playing the next two games without it hurting them. Pick on form and b*%&!x to the rotation.

"Hype Man" Mike McCarthy

Anyone that's been to the last two matches would have experienced Mike McCarthy putting on his hype hat, talking about Dev Toner a bit, and working with Leo the Lion to get the crowd going. The viking clap isn't ours, but it was a bit of craic and the kids enjoyed it. I'm sure the traditionalists wo...
