Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

harry not starting, he deserves it. Agree. Also strange not starting Ross last week but picking him this week. Both Byrnes are lightly raced this season, but Harry has considerably less time in the saddle at 10 since the 6N started (92 mins overall but only 54 mins for Leinster vs the Bulls) compar...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

Ah good shout. tigerburnie still around? it's starting at garden of remembrance, just off O'Connell street 2-3pm saturday. I think it's the "Ireland is full" mob....if you mention they are like the National Front or British First, they should get the gist. they had the same stuff in engla...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

Had a quick gander at the Tigers forum to see what the vibe is there, the opinion is that Leinster injury list is ostensibly us playing possum...would that were so. are you able to post a message on there? If you can it might be worth mentioning, for any tigers fans travelling over for the game, th...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

To me osborne reminds me a lot like Keenan, he seems to be gliding slowly but makes up a serious amount of metres without looking fast and like Keenan he seems to be a natural fit for this level

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

Osborne has stepped up every time he's played at a higher level IMO. If we can't trust him now when will we be able to. Think he has put in great performances time after time and is underrated on here. Where have you seen him being underrated here?? Literally every Leinster fan poster is drooling o...

Also turner while smaller than Osborne is built like a tank and has taken every opportunity given to him so far this season. Osborne and turner have been good together and this could give frawley the opp to play fullback if needed

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

Just looking at the stats, I felt at the time that we missed a few tackles (including a crucial one that lead to a try and yellow card by Jack Conan). Tackle success rate vs the Bulls was 86% which is the same as our URC seasonal average in which we are ranked 13th in the league. That's not good en...

Re: The quickening 2024

With Glasgow playing Zebre twice, the Bulls having a million home matches and our potential European commitments does anyone else feel the run in could see us finishing 3rd in the league? Short answer: maybe. Long answer: I expect the Bulls to win their remaining five games and finish on 68/69 poin...

Thought aviva first two tiers were being available for the Leicester game (27k). Did they open the top tier too?

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

I’m sorry but Harry’s performance last night has sealed it for me, the guy has the requirements to be a great 10 for us. If it was Johnny last night who was playing all would be screaming from the rooftops how good he is as a ten. You don’t get the great defence splitting passes without the risk tha...

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

These type of games just continue to show our player development. While Conan well deserved his motm, I thought Baird was pure class. What a game by Harry, put us where we needed to be when the game was in the balance and then Ross came on and showed his worth - 2 great tracking back try saving tack...

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

I would say the 6n has put a spanner in that timeline. He hasn’t had the core group for nearly 8 weeks which will require some bedding in time and change of mindset from irish tactics to Leinster tactics I think you make valid points but regardless of the possible setbacks that you've mentioned the...

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

Good time after tomorrows game to gauge where out new defensive system is at. JN said it would take till April to bed in. Well here we are (nearly) at April. Have we still a ways to go or are we nearly there? I would say the 6n has put a spanner in that timeline. He hasn’t had the core group for ne...

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

If it was anyone else bar the bulls I would say we could have gone with Baird and McCarthy in second row with deegan at 6. Very hard on max missing out with how well he performed. He must be asking himself what more can he do

curates_egg wrote: March 28th, 2024, 6:41 am Latest Molecast (very interesting) seems to suggest that, if we beat Leicester, our quarter final wouldn’t be in Lansdowne Road. They say it, but it might be a mistake.
Is that true? If so, where would it be?
Croke park?

Re: Zebre v Leinster Sat 23 March KO 7:35pm RTE2

Quite a lot of positives in that performance. Absolutely. The list is long. Deegan really should be pushing for a Europe spot, based on his performances this season, of which this was again good. You would think we would go 6:2 this week and again against Leicester. Particularly if Frawley is fit. ...
