Re: Ospreys v Leinster Saturday 7th 19.35 TG4

Front row selection will be interesting. If we decide we can’t risk Mike, because Furlong is still injured, who starts and who benches? Milne, McKee, Vakh (Molony and Deeny behind) would be quite an ask for an away game against a form team. They’ve a strong tight five, full of internationals, depen...

Re: Ospreys v Leinster Friday 7th 19.35 TG4

Ah I must be getting it mixed up. Can I still have REVENGE? :D They've beaten us at the RDS a few times though, more than any other side? Any spreadsheetistas have the answer to that? Yes, they have 4 wins and a draw at the RDS - next best is Glasgow with 2 wins and a draw. Percentage wise they are...

Re: Ospreys v Leinster Friday 7th 19.35 TG4

Didn't they beat us last season at the RDS ...... I've tried hard to forget! If so.... I WANT REVENGE! :D Leinster beat Ospreys 29-7 at the RDS last season on 19/2/22 in Round 12?? Ah I must be getting it mixed up. Can I still have REVENGE? :D They've beaten us at the RDS a few times though, more t...

Re: Leinster v Connacht - 1 January 2023 - RDS - RTÉ2

It's not a verse: it's part of the chorus. In my misguided youth, I followed Celtic, and I know the song very well. It was commissioned to commemorate the 100th anniversary: I even have the 1988 jersey still! The chorus is chanted by Celtic supporters, including the sectarian taunt of 'ooh ah up th...

Re: Munster v Leinster St Stephen's Day 19.35 TG4

Like Healy's, this is a selection I pretty much expected. Baird has had some good games at 6 but done nothing to nail down the jersey. Until he really shows he is unequivocally a 6 (and Leinster's 6), versatility is a strength for him and for the Leinster and Ireland squads. He also looks heavier t...

Re: Munster v Leinster St Stephen's Day 19.35 TG4

This match is only a formality for Leinster. Munster, despite the improved results, are still a long way off where they need to be to compete with the better teams. A win against Connacht or Edinburg is a completely different story to one against Leinster. Munster even at full tilt will only have a...

Beautiful line from Eoin McDevitt on Second Captains today: Simon Hick: "they [Munster] need to get that back as much as they need to develop all the other bits we've been talking about for years – things like progressive link play, things like their defensive maul, their kicking strategy, all ...

Pound for pound, metre for metre, minute by minute - Porter is delivering more No surprise to me. Tajee Furlong had to go on the Lions tour, Peter Porter didn't. The Lions is a massive stressor. Players love it for loads of reasons – glory, next team up, ego, improved contract negotiating position,...

Cheapest tickets for this match are €38 (unreserved, uncovered, behind the posts). I love going to Leinster matches but that is nonsense pricing. I'll be watching on TV.

While watching Ireland v Australia at the weekend I looked up Allan Ala'alatoa, Michael's little big brother. I then linked through to Michael's bio and noticed on his Wikipedia page that in his time at Crusaders he scored 28 points. This surely means that at some point he kicked a penalty or drop ...

Rhys Ruddock accounts for 72% of the total Leinster appearances in that starting XV. Ruddock, Moloney, Penny and McCarthy make up 83% of the squad appearances.
