Re: England v Ireland Saturday 9th March 2024 4.45pmTwickenham

I would have thought Baird has been banging down the door to start. Any player that comes on and makes that kind of impact (consistently) has to be under consideration. The captain can just move across to 7.

its really strange to see so much discussion on this one from people knowledgeable of the game. Honestly I thought it was cut and dry. Its a good example of how stupidly complex the game can be.

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

If you look at the footage from behind the maul, there was two separate changes from him - first he moves his right arm from the original player he was bound to onto the player carrying the ball but keeping his other arm as it was originally bound. It was the second movement where he dropped his le...

I think he could run faster in that clip, I think he is one of the slowest wingers in the 6 nations, I also agree with you that I wouldnt want any other winger in that slot.

Wales changed their entire front row too. Jager looks solid in the scrum, was pretty good when defnding the line. Outside of that he wasnt asked to do much. I thought he was fine. Congrats to him on his debut.

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

Yep. Personally I'm shocked and not a little dismayed that an Irish qualified player brought into the Irish system to play for Ireland has been selected for Ireland Yeah, I do agree. Whatever about Belham’s right to be disappointed- and he had that, it’s hard to argue that Farrell is not entitled t...

https://m.independent.ie/sport/rugby/sevens-stars-set-for-surprise-inclusion-in-ireland-womens-six-nations-squad/a50208324.html It looks like some of the sevens players will be released for six nations involvement. Its a good move. It should give them a better chance of being competitive at least. ...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I'm not as down on Luke Fitz as a lot of other people. I think the format of his show mostly plays to the breezy, throwaway side of things, but if you get him talking about technical or professional aspects of the game – the game on the pitch, not the whole sport/business/narrative side – he speaks...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

The fuckwits who think cut price International tickets should be sold to the general public. As one of those fuckwits that spends quite a bit of money supporting Leinster but is barred from getting my hands on a six nations ticket, I dont mind the conversation. I'm not worried about the price, I wo...

Re: 6N: Ireland Italy - Dublin 3pm Sun 11 Feb 2024

I think the criticism of Crowley is valid, he's done things well but he's made poor choices on pretty much all his short kicks and executed them badly. Is that not overstating the negatives though? Its like we are desperate to find some fault and keep shouting it to make it sound more than it actua...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Are you referring to Rugby Rugby Weekly? Certainly seemed like Gavan Casey was saying the Leinster fans are giving Crowley a hard time, which I definitely don't think is the case. The left wing said something similar, but without the Leinster reference. Its as if they all didnt say the very same th...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

After the performance in France, the media (generalisation I know) were quick to say he played well but made mistakes. This week after the Italy game the media seem to be jumping in saying people (with a Leinster focus I assume) need to stop being so critical of him, when they were the first to push...

Not a fan of the zombie after every try. ****in' hate it. Had to hit the mute button on the remote each time. Love it! There I’ve said it… again. :-) I think its brilliant, but not a short burst after every try. It kinda devalues it. Thought Casey had a really good game. He made a few mistakes, and...
