Re: The Breakdown - Heresy and Sacrilege.
I have searched for the law which states that Richie McCaw cannot be penalised let alone yellow-carded. I am sure that it must be there. Perhaps some legal eagle can help!

Re: Only poor people eat raspberry jam...
I used to think that the word "mundane" was actually "mondaying" until a cranky Christian Brother thought I was trying to be smart - a big mistake! Still think that "mondaying" is a good word, however.

Re: Tri Nations Thread
Quote of the day! "Smit was more circumspect when asked how he felt about New Zealand captain Richie McCaw being warned several times but not shown a yellow card for repeated ruck infringements. I suppose if it had been my first year playing against the All Blacks I'd be surprised. But it's not...

Re: Tri Nations Thread
Jean DeVilliers has been cited for a perceived spear tackle on Ranger. Not a fan of De Villiers, but would want to see a replay of the tackle, it initially seemed fine to me, he appeared to bring the man to ground with him in the tackle. I have watched it just now. I have seen far worse perpetrated...

He seemed to lose the plot complletely. Also, his captaincy in the field is rather eccentric at times.

Re: Organised Sunbathing aka Cricket
Could I risk saying that we have two day's excellent test cricket with Australia deaing better with difficult batting conditions. The match is not over yet, however. Back home and will watch the remainder on Sky.

Typical b*******s from the AB's from today's New Zealand Herald: "The All Blacks have called on referees to get fitter or they will struggle to keep up with the increasing pace of test rugby. Assistant coach Wayne Smith said his side, in particular, were taking rugby in a new direction where th...

Not sure that much will be done about it. It seems to be a less serious office than a student on a J1 visa playing for a team over there while registered for a local club! That seems to be the ultimate offence in GAA world!

Re: Cricket 2010
Great win for Ireland in the final of the ICC World Cricket League! They won all their group matches, and have now had a resoundonding win over Scotland in the final. Set to get 233, a 162 run partnership between Kevin O'Brien (98 not out) and White (79) made it safe after a slight wobble at 53/3. I...

Re: Pearl Jam tonight!! Anyone going?
Sorry SCG It is a bit of an in joke on the forum this last week. In jokes are a bit exclusive by their nature. (Hence the sorry) If I explained it would be boring and unfunny. I do however think that one of the benefits of an internet forum is that none of us are judged by our looks or our a...

I must really be out of touch. Who's Miss Brindley? I'll have to ask our grandson - St.Mary's under 8's and Leinster in a few years time. Then I am probably biased, but what harm!johng wrote:Are you Miss Brindley?SCG wrote:God I must be old - then I am 62! Have fun guys.

Anyone else at the open day in the Aviva Stadium today? I think that is seriously impressive! It should give great views from everywhere. Can't wait! Just hope that the FAI don't make life too difficult.

Re: Heaslip IRB Judicial Hearing - 5 weeks suspension
I agree totally that Heaslip was completely out of order, was an idiot, and deserves his ban. However, I cannot help wondering what those evil sods did to him. Did anyone notice Whitelock's regular off-the-ball antics to name but one?! At least Mark Lawrence copped him right at the end, but it was t...

Re: Will poor referees destroy our beloved game?
Anyone see Steve Walsh refereeing the Waratahs v the Brumbies at the weekend? He disallowed one perfectly good Brumbies try and blew up wrongly preventing another probable try. He was as pompous as ever and Mr Jones seemed almost good by comparison! If you didnt see this there is a decent 10 mins h...
