Re: The Economy (Super - Thread)
The Dept of Finance repeatedly warned the Cabinet about the dangers of the overheating economy but were ignored, as far back as 1999. They probably should have been stronger, although as a company we had a very frustrating encounter with Cowen when he was Finance minister, after one particular budg...

Re: Leinsterfans.com Election Tally
Just a tiny procedural point to be rectified when they take a broom to our constitution and get rid of the rubbish. I don't mean to be confrontational, but what "rubbish" is it that you're referring to? I don't agree with many of the policies adopted by Labour in the recent General Electi...

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
It was a disappointing game to say the least, but i'd like to thank the Cardiff fans for their most sporting and warm companionship for the game - how I enjoyed the cries of 'you cheating micks'...lovely, just lovely. Some shocking stuff on their official supporters club twitter last night too. :ro...

Re: Leinsterfans.com Election Poll
Point of reference: I have never voted for Fianna Fail, and there is no way I am about to break the habit now. But... Someone above asked if anyone could give one good reason to vote for them. I heard one yesterday that made a bit of sense. If Fianna Gael go into government with Labour, and Fianna ...

Re: Leinsterfans.com Election Poll
And in the latest news, FG say they would consider going into government with the Greens. They must have thought they were getting too far ahead in the polls and decided to lose some popularity points. The laughable bit was when Cuffe said that the Greens would be good because they have the...

Re: Ireland v France ***Team Pg 7***
O' Leary's service was slow again, should have been taken off earlier. However is was Darcy's missed tackle that lead to France's only try that cost us the game. It was all those penalties at the breakdown, seven in our own half, that cost us the game... allied to the 19 handling errors. The scary ...

Re: Mauler's Wall
You have to presume that by Socialite parties, Sheepshagger means Fianna Fail. After all, in the history of the State, no other party has done so much to implement Socialite principles as Fianna Fail. The nationalising of speculative capital particularly was a stunning piece of Marxist-Leninism. Ev...

Re: The Economy (Super - Thread)
Good news... the recession is over. I mean it must be right, the Dart & Bus have put up their fares Yep as opposed to the revolutionary idea of cutting costs (cue the union vs banker debate, we should probably have a seperate on going thread for that!) The fall-off in bus users over the past tw...

How do you negotiate with the private sector ? I also didn't realise that runaway salary rises were a problem in Southern Ireland  (i jest, i jest). Re: Leinsterfans.com Election Poll
Didn't take Labour long to come out with some populist nonsense. No sooner do they get official backing from Siptu then Gilmore is saying he'll look to negotiate with the private sector for a three year pay freeze. Is he that stupid or are they only interested in looking after their union buddies? ...

Have the clubs also got an allocation , got an e mail from my AIL club saying they had some ?. Clubs got them last week. E-mails went around. Allowing 8 purchases was a bit much, given that they effectively restricted the previous sale to upgrades. Anyone hanging on to get a few extras together was...

They're still there.... Wasn't Gilmore a "Stickie" (along with Mr. Wabbitte) in the old days ? Of coursethey were stickies, hence why they claim they won't strike a deal with SF. Both sides despise each other. Not really. They delivered a budget proposal before the budget. This is forming...
