Re: Leinster v Embra Friday 7.35 RDS TG4

Both halfbacks were sh*te in the first half. Really poor decision making and direction. Kicking was brutal. When they got a sniff, they tried to force things. Much improved second half which was largely down to the ball suddenly appearing on a silver platter after the pack had utterly demolished the...

I reckon he'll stay out of contract too. I don't think Grenoble will retain him nor will there by too many teams interested in hiring him. He might even be shown the door in advance of that given how he's going at the moment.

Re: 31 Man Ireland RWC Squad

Have watched the game 3 times now. Fitzgerald was extremely ordinary in attack. He did very little of note. But he didn't make any errors either. It was the sort of performance that people have criticised Darren Cave for previously as "not taking his opportunity". He defended quite well ag...

Toner. MOTM in 2 pool games, immense yesterday and has developed into a crucial player for us. Heaslip second. Honourable mentions to Cronin and Fitzgerald.

Re: toulon again!

I don't really get people calling our attack muck. It was ugly as sin but it was exactly what we wanted to do . The wider backs didn't see the ball much and that was part of the plan. So we went out to be utterly ineffective in attack? Well, yes, we certainly succeeded in that, but when we had to c...

Re: toulon again!

Unfortunately his decisiveness was what made it easy for Habana to read his mind and ultimately the pass. That probably played a part. He does love that pass and that try has been coming for a long time. He was blessed not to concede it throwing a similar one off his right hand against Glasgow whic...

Re: toulon again!

This is going to seem churlish given the bravery of the performance There was not one bit of MOC in that. We didn't do well because of some tactical tweak or innovative play from the coaching box. In fact, that performance from 9-15 was par for the course this year There are some matches where you ...

Re: toulon again!

I thought we were superb tactically today, for the most part. MOC completely bettered Laporte in that department. It might not have been pretty but we swallowed them up. They came at us with everything in the second half and we were still able to engineer two shots at goal and a couple of drop goal ...

Re: toulon again!

We died on MOC's decision to go with Gops at ten, the chap cant run a bath, let alone a backline, we have been abject with him at ten all season, today was no different, forwards matched and almost bettered Toulons, 9/10 axis let us down badly. Madigan took on a large part of the responsibilities o...

Re: Rumour Mill

A back line of McGrath, Byrne, Kearney, Reid, Te'o, McFadden and Kirchner is good enough to win during the RWC. It would also give some good experience around Byrne to settle him. I think McFadden's RWC might have been ended today. They were saying it was suspected broken arm on ref link. If it is, ...

Pretty sure it was forward too. Nothing good about it.

He had a day to forget in all respects of play aside from off the tee.

Re: Leinster Contract Renewals

I'm genuinely struggling to raise a hackle for a team that I believe not only will lose, but should lose. Yeah there's up and downs but when you have a *** Edited by mod *** doing sh!t job with a diseased rugby mind affecting the team and the rest......well f%~k it! That's just completely unnecessa...

Re: Leinster Contract Renewals

But nobody wants to heap all the blame on the coach. That may or may not be true but he's certainly the focal point for the vast majority of the vitriol coming from a significant portion and some of it is completely out of order and rather pathetic. I don't think MOC is the man for us. I'd rather h...

Re: Rumour Mill

Declan Fitzpatrick has had significant issues with concussion in the past, is on the wrong side of 30 and has only taken to the field once this year (as a sub). He'd be my guess.

Re: Leinster Contract Renewals

I'd be very surprised if we jettisoned Thornbury at this point. He is getting a look in with the A team, is very young for his position (brought in straight from school) and has had a heavily interrupted time in the academy due to injury. He's an ideal candidate for the 4th year.

Eh, no it's not. Not at all in fact. You seasoned posters love the auld straw men: I'll give you that. ceemec seems to imply it is somehow good, so take it up with him two posters have now deliberately ignored it repeatedly and had digs at me based on what they want my position to be You misreprese...

Re: Dragons v Leinster

The 10/12 axis isn't working. Ideally, I'd have wanted to see how Noel Reid could have gone at 12 over the 6N. He seems more natural in the position and offers a dangerous running threat that Madigan doesn't really offer any more now opposition have him marked. His footballing skills may have worked...

Re: toulon again!

I'm not misrepresenting at all. You said he isn't offloading as it's essentially banned and all he seems to do is carry. I never claimed you said he can't offload. he emphatically doesn't pass and offloading is essentially banned, so it doesn't matter if he can do it. I think you need to look at Te'...
