Re: Leinster v Treviso
Denton is occupying a squad place in our weakest position on the pitch, somewhere we need to bring in proven performers while the likes of Flanagan, Marshall, Beirne and Thornbury progress. So what if hes occupying a squad place? Theres no limit on Irish Qualified players, and as such and not being...

Re: Leinster v Treviso
Whether he plays for Leinster or not is irrelevant to the length of ban he should receive. Tip tackles are incredibly dangerous and need to be treated with long bans.

Re: Leinster v Treviso
Yes. I have to say I was a bit mystified by that comment. Not seen much in Denton yet. But give the guy a fair shake. We saw feck all from Strauss in his first year either and if Denton turns into half the player.....etc. He's already made more appearances than Ed "Invisible Man" O'Donogh...

Yeah, we're playing USA and Canada (twice) in June.sheepshagger wrote:Thought I heard/read somewhere Ireland will do a summer tour in the US this year? (realise there is the Lions tour as well then).

Re: Leinster v Treviso
There is video footage of the game, there were very short highlights of the game on both Scrum V (in Wales) and on Against the Head. The game was also being relayed on big screens at the game in Cardiff.Xanthippe wrote:Would he have been cited by Cardiff? If there's no video evidence how can he be charged?

Re: Leinster v Treviso
Why are you so adamant about him getting a long ban? Have you seen footage of it? Couple of things. Haven't seen footage but the consensus from people who were there was that it deserved a red card. Secondly I think Denton is a poor player and would rather see the likes of Flanagan and Marshall get...

Well I know for sure that the Welsh squad players at English and French clubs have been released back to their respective clubs.johng wrote:Hold on. Will the starting 15 of the French and English teams be available for selection this weekend?

Re: Healy Citing
If Healy played for a French or English club he'd be available for the French match on the 9th. Not sure of how legal it is to ban him for an extra week because of the IRFU's player strategy.

Re: Healy Citing
It is odd. Corcoran has clarified the thinking on Twitter saying that it was the expected 5 weeks, reduced to 3 but as he wasn't due to play this weekend the ban does not commence until next week therefore ending at midnight on March 10th. Is there a possibility that Kilcoyne comes in, does well in...

Re: Healy Citing
Reported as 3 weeks everywhere but he's missing 2 games? Correct me if I'm wrong but three weeks from now is February 6th, which is several days before the French game. Fanning is saying 'theres a sting in the tail about when it starts', so perhaps its not starting til next week, which seems strang...

Re: Healy Citing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teqizuet-ck I like to see a bit of rucking to get someone off the ball but Healy was not rucking at all. If that was Cole on Healy I would want the ban at the upper end. Murray had his hands on the ball when Healy stamped on Cole so he was not rucking Cole out of the...

Re: Player Discipline
What with Healy being cited, and people saying he should get a reduction for his good record, I thought I'd take a look at discipline throughout the current Leinster squad. The numbers below are restricted to the players' time at Leinster and for Ireland as obviously there's a lot more work involve...

Re: Leinster v Treviso
Not a bad team at all but I'd have Macken ahead of Carr. Possibly. Only covers 13 though. Either of the named wingers can come in to cover centre, but neither Goodman nor O'Malley are wingers. Reid covers full-back too, while Boss covers from 1-15. I know it was a late change but O'Malley was the o...

Re: Leinster v Treviso
Based on the fact that any players released will probably be required to start for game time purposes. We could see something like this McGrath Cronin Bent Cullen Toner McLaughlin Jennings Murphy Reddan Madigan Fitzgerald Goodman O'Malley McFadden Kearney Dundon Van Der Merwe Hagan Marshall Ruddock...
